Sympathy extended to E. Turzinski on the loss of his brother, and
Holly read her letter of response to the Muskego vioman's Club request of
Friends of the Library: J. Wolf advised a nice crowd for 0. "limier's
program September 27. Next progra,m will be writer Ellen Hunnicutt on
October 16 at 2 p.m. Invitations have been issued to all area schools,
public libraries, and press releases submitted to newspapers and radio.
Friends of Library USA will be ten years old in 1989 and celebrating
with a contest. Deadline €or entry is December 15, and Holly consented
to prepare contest entry. 0 Trust fund goes up a little each month from donations. Deposit this
month $108.00.

New Business:
Holly reviewed her presentation of the proposed 1989 budget to the
finance committee on September 28, and thanked I<. Christenson, J. Mundro,
and J. Eioberson for lending moral support.

of fee increases be this date. Mqtion carried. (see minutes September 6)
Motion J. Wolf, second E. Turzinski to approve wording of promotional
material regarding overdues, fine collection, and press releases to that

LIBRARIAN'S REPORT
October 4, 1988
Circulation was sluggish this month - less than 9,000, - but
count" is good as well.

program. Attendance has been better than it was during the
spring, and the people from the school district are doing a

Public Works has put up tihe shelving at last, and we are

Charlene, Linda and Holly selected paperbacks to meet the
three hours. It will take considerably longer before the
terms of the state aid grant. $3,500 was spent in less than
books are ready for use. Right now my office looks more
like a wharehouse than a work space, and reminds me of when
we all shared the upstairs office.
Penny attended a special users meeting, a film preview, and
several scout tours this fall. She and Teri went to Green

Bay for a storytelling workshop, and on the annual WCFLS
trip to the CCBC in Madison.
