Christenson. The agenda was approved on moticn of E. Turzinski, second C. Buhrandt. Minutes of the December 1, 1987 meeting were approved on motion of E. Turzinski, second J. Wolf. Next meeting scheduled February 2, 1988. Treasurer's report: Motion by J. Wolf, second J. Roberson to approve December 1987 expenditures in amount of $15,288.10. Motion carried. Motion J. Wolf, second J. Roberzlon to approve December 1987 federated system fund expenditures in momt of $1956.61. Motion carried. Motion J. Wolf, second E. Turzinski to approve magazine subscription expenditures second E. Turzinski to approve federated system fund expenditures (88 budget) (88 budget) in amount of $5,358.93. Motion carried. Motion J. Note from Edith Guill with ct.eck for purchase of childrens book. 4) Wisconsin Friends of Library newsletter. Guest comments: none Old Business: a. Friends of the Library: 550 i.nvitations were sent to craft and antique people for the March 13 Fair. Responses and reservations are starting to come in. The steering conimittee will meet in January. R. Christenson 0 and H. Sanders measured available space at the high school. b. Trust fund: no report c. Librarian's report: read and placed on file. (copy attached) d. Interlibrary cooperation: no report e. Automation: no report f. Long range planning: Chapters; 7,8, and 9 of the Wisconsin Public Library Standards were discuslsed. Motion 0. Mimier, second R. Leichtfuss, this item be placed on next ntonth's agenda and each board member to select the major role of the Muskego Public Library in.the Waukesha County Federated System and tie prepared to justify this selection. Mo tion carried. New Business: a. Trust fund wording: Motion E. Turzinski, second J. Wolf to adopt this date suggested revision of Trust Fund Resolution, specifying the ten year period dates frcm acceptance date, and this resolution to supercede original 1983 resolution. Motion carried. J. Wolf, second J. Roberson tihis mount be used for print, non- print materials. Motion carried. b:; State aid grant: Holly advised this amount is $7,366.00. Other figures are not available yet for numbers of questions answered, reserves taken, etc. The new page began yesterday. ,Her name is Judith (Judy) Wiedenkeller. She will be shelving and shelf-reading. We will be teaching Teri to "understudy" some other areas for days when there is not enough shelving for two. Storyhours and the Christmas craft program were vel1 received. The new session begins Thursday, in cooperation with the school district. The December Artist of the Month was a homemade affair of paperweights and Christmas cards because we could not find the man who had originally signed up to exhibit. The January artist is our own Ed Turzinski. We heard from or saw several of our "alumni" over the holidays: Lolly Bonnell, Susan Elliker, Angela Ferber, Grant Fredericksen, and Melissa Matz. All are well, and send greetings. Judy Hackbarth, who has been with us on a special program is leaving because her grant is finished. We are hoping for a replacement. Sue Schmid, Donna's daughter, who just received her MLS, will be assisting Charlene for some field experience. We have purchased a device called a Lasercounter, which will record people entering the library. This figure will give us another measure of the number of people we serve. r a
