federated system fund ex?enditures in amount of $1540.18. Motion
carried. Notion by J. IJo.lf and seconded to approve December
expenditures (1987 budget) in amount of $7096.86. Motion carried.

d. Interlibrary cooperation: Holly advised Brookfield has joined
NCFLS brirgng the system rnem.3ership to 16 libraries. A meeting is
scheduled this month regardi:ng multi ty2e Cooperation of public and
school libraries in areas of worksho?s, purchasing, etc. Van delivery
has expanded to interconnect iiaukesha and Racine counties, WCTI and Wvi.
&. Automation: no report other than ;daukesha Public Librzry
building is on schedule and 2urrently in contractual meetings with
the chosen INLZX computer system.
New Business:

b. A-V materials returned in bookdrop: General consensus was
to continue at the warning level at this time. Such items are marked
"Do Not Return in Bookdrop" snd patrons will be given a bookmark with
similar warning. Tally will be kept on when this is occuring --
after hours, holida.ys, daytine, etc.

Circulation for the eleven months of

We have had some very busy evenings
and Saturdays this month, with literally
heaps of returns and many reference
questions. We kept waftting for the Christmas
lull that never came....
Programs this month included a visit
and a holiday craft program which had the

kids making ornaments and cookies.
December's Artist of the Month was
Dennis Matz. His expressive paintings gave
much pleasure.
The Friends of the Library were
responsible for the wreathes and red
poinsettias which gave the library such a
festive air this past month.
