Iblimier. r Approved : LIBRARIAN'S REPORT October I, 1986 September's circulation was near 10,000, and the number of questions being asked is up: school has started. Located as we are, we were the :.ogical site for a meeting between Milwaukee, Waukesha and Racine counties to iron out van delivery arrangements. St. Leonard's School library volunteers met here for a workshop on cataloging and library operations. Headed by Jane Mundro, the group looks as though it is going to accomplish good things. Charlene Lenzen and Melissa Mat:: presented a tour to a second grade place materials on reserve and assist in selection of boo'ks for class from Muskego Elementary. We also have been approached to kindergarten children. Storyhours have been full, and special Halloween events are planned, one of them in conjunction with the park and rec department. The draft of the WCFLS three-year plan is available in Holly's office. The system has ambitious plans which will greatly benefit library users in the county. Charlene and Holly attended a reading conference in Lake Geneva. Among the speakers were Barbara Elleman of Booklist, and Daniel Fader, the author of The New Hooked on Books. The participants were treated to a thought-provo:<ing day, and insights into the nature of television-reared chi.ldren. We will be 'short-handed again, ,as one of our workers needs surgery. Melissa will be taking the A-50 course offered by the university extension. 30 cartons from Brodart are exps?cted here any day. They are part of the county's CD-ROM grant.
