Present: Board members Christenson, Mimier, Roberson, Buhrandt, Turzinski, Leichtfuss, Matheson, Sanders, and Director Holly Sanhuber.
The meeting was called to order at 7:50 by ?resident Christenson.
The agenda was approved on motion E. Turzinski, second R. Leichtfuss.
Minutes of the July 1,1986 meeting were approved on motion of
0. Mimier, second C. Buhrandt. Next meeting scheduled September 2,1986.
Treasurer's report: Motion C. Buhrandt to approve July, 1986
expenditures in amxof $18,157.68. Second E. Turzinski.
Motion carried. Notion C. Buhrandt to approve July,1986
federated system fund expenditures in amount of 86,064.47.
Second 0. Mimier. Motion carried.

Old Business :
a. Friends of the Library: It was reported the record sale
went well. 0. Mimier advised there had been no response on the
request to continue the tee shirt and book bag sale, and she will
send second letter to the Syndicate.
"b. Trust fund: no activity
c. Librarians report: read and placed on file. (copy attached)
d. Intersystem cooperation: Holly advised Washington County
is joining Mid Wisconsin Federated Library System. A survey was
conducted to assess all libraries in Waukesha County - school,
workshops -- all around better community cooperation. "Intersystem"
public, etc. This could lead .to sharing collections, resources,
could become llInterlibrarylr.
e. Automation: Holly distributed memo from Karen Hurd on
LSCA grant and LePac stations. She reviewed the steps underway
by Vaukesha Public Library regarding automation requests, responses
from vendors, and the top rated systems as to price and functionality.
Waukesha is proceeding on what is best for them and also keeping
in mind incorporating WCFLS. Some options may be individual system,
shared system, and creative financing for member libraries.
New Business:
Priorities were discussed for preparing the proposed 1987
budget. It was determined to advocate hiring a page and realistic
draft will be available in a ccuple weeks. The 1987 budget
figures based on need to maintain library standards. The first
schedule for preparation and aa.option was distributed.

LIBRARIAN'S REPORT
August 5, 1986
This month was every bit as bu.sy as we thought it would be, but
everyone worked above and beyond the call, and we survived. The
circulation was over 11,000.
Reports on our Wanderers: Most people have returned and are well.
Thelma Anderson is said to be making progress. Irma Kelber took
her a stack of books yesterday, so that is a good sign. Angie
is looking for work in NYC. Her note was cheerful, and she misses
everyone, and says "hi .'I
A new staff member, Teri Searing, has filled the Library Page
position left vacant by the departure of Evelyn Wink. Teri will
be helping Melissa with storyhour, as well as shelving and shelf-reading.
