TO: Mayor Jerome Gottfried
The Finance Committee
At last night's Library Board meeting the mattcr of Holly Sanhuber's interim-
position as Head Librarian and the adequate renumeration for that added re-
sponsibility and work was thoroughly discussed, and at my suggestion, it was
decided to handle tIle situation under the authority of the Board, since it
must live within its budget.
Therefore we are withdrawing the matter from consideration by the Finance
Committee and Common Council. It will be handled along the guidelines I had
previously put forth: that Holly receive the difference between her pay and
that of a beginning (probationary) Head Librarian - in addition to her own
regular pay.
To keep you abreast of the decision on filling the position, we will accept
applications until February 15th, select three or four people to interview,
and decide on one to recolJunend to the Board at its April 6th meeting.
I hope you will take this message in the spirit in which it was made - the
routine use of the power of the Board within the rigid limits of its sensible
use of the budget areas allocated by the City ot Muskego.
Sincerely,
{/~~J?u~nli'V (4~J
