MhÜer Mrs. Mutter moved payment of bills in the amount of $663.79. I,íimier seconded. Motion passed. Mrs. I".~..Þ.r:flrJ;.GJ1.~LBi!ll().rt Fifty students have indi.cated interest in the Junior Great Books program. These students are in the second thru ninth grades, with the majority in the second, third, and fourth grades. They will meet for book discussion after school or on Saturdays, with trained leaders who have completed a leadership training course offered recently by the Great Books Foundation. A request has been made for a full time page to be paid thru CETA funds. Secretarial help of fifteen hours a week has been made available to the librarian through COOP. Miss Horton reported on the WLA convention which she attended at Oconomowoc. New Bus_Iness Miss Horton asked the Board to give consideration to a salary increase for her that would be in line with salaries now being paid to other department heads. She absented herself from the meeting while the Board discussed this matter. Mrs. Mimier moved that the Library Board request the Fina.nce Committee to increase Miss Horton's salary to $13,750. 1,~s. Leichtfuss seconded. A roll call vote was taken and the motion was passed with unanimous vote. In accordance with the motion the following request was submitted by Mrs. Dibb and Mrs. Teisl to the Finance Co~~ittee which was in session at that time. . ) . In view of the distance and the direction that Miss Horton has brought our library in the three years she has been employed here, and in view of the salaries being paid to librarians in comparable communities, as well as what has happened to the salary level of other department heads in the city, it is the unanimous recoro~endation of ~,he Library Board that Miss Horton's salary be increased to $13,750.00. Mrs. Teisl moved and Mr. Kreuser seconded motion for adjournment at 8145.
