Much of the work was done by Miss Horten. The Union List is a compilation of the æagazines . carried by each library. If a lièrarian receives a request for an article from a ~agazine not carried in her library, she can consult the List and obtain a copy of the article from a library stocking that magazine. The List should be of immense help. particularly to the smaller libraries, in providing coverage of ma~azine ~aterials. Pl8.ns are now set UD for dist~ibution of the list and a trial Deriod of one ve8.r for the~exchanae of materials. ~ AVStory Hour ~eague Is bei~g for~ed. Fifteen mothers have signed up to assist in the work of preparation for the Story ~our, a sharing of time and talent in ord9r to assure the continuance and possible expansion of this popular program. - - - - - - - - - - - - Following -- is a list of pro jected budget cuts resulting from a budget cutting meetinG of the librarian and the Mayor. Original reouest for budget cuts amounted to ~4,00o. Because CETA will ~o~~r the salary of our children's librarian through Decem~er of 1976 with the possibility of coverage through August of 1977 resultin~ in substantial savings to the library. it is hoped that a $2045 cut in the 1977 budget will be acceptable. Miss Horton indicated that elimination of the items listed will not seriously interfere with the quality of service to be provided by the library in 1977.
