CITY HALL CHAMBERS
JULY 9, 1975
PRESENT: Pres. Dibb, members Buhrandt, Ald. Colburn,' Suplt. Kreuser, Mutter,
Stelngraeber and Teisl. Miss Horton also present.
Mrs. Dibb opened the meeting at 7:35 P.M.
Mrs. Teisl moved to approve the minutes of the June 11, 1975 meeting, Mrs.
Buhrandt seconded and motion carried.
NEXT MEETING - Wednesday, August 13, 1975, 7:30 P.M., CITY HALL CHAMBERS.
The two city resolutions were read. One establishing the þositlon of,Llbrary-
Clerk I and the second authorizing application for CETA funds for the position.
The letter from the Wis. Division of Public Instruction to the Waukesha County
Library System Planning Committee, informing them that their proposed library
system for Waukesha County was approved, was read.
The secretary also read the letter addressed to Mayor Gottfried from the board
in regard to the 5% budget cut.
Mrs. Buhrandt moved approval of bills in the amount of $3,557.90, Mrs. Mutter
seconded and motion carried.
Miss Horton presented 3 options for a contract with the Town of Norway for lib-
rary service. The options were discussed and placed on file.
The librarian reported that the new library hours are working out excellently,
especially between 11:00 A.M. and 1:00 P.M. The summer reading program has 54
children enrolled. She also reported that the 3 girls from the Youth Employ-
ment Program are working out well.
Miss Horton reported that the VFW has donated space at the Country Fair"(Aug.22,
23, 24th) for a library promotion booth. The booth will be manned by staff mem-
bers, applications for library cards will be available, book lists and brochu~es
will be handed out and prizes awarded for winners of the corn kernel guessing,
game.
Mr. Kreuser moved that $27 be appropriated from gift fund monies to be used for
prizes in the 3 age levels, Mrs. Steingraeber seconded and motion carried.
Mrs. Buhrandt reread her suggestions for a proposed library art contest. She
will present a proposal for the board's consideration at the next meeting.
The librarian was advised to interview candidates for the position of llbrary-
clerk I and bring her recommendations to the board for approval.
Miss Horton requested an opinion from the City Attorney on the current options
for recovery of library materials. Mr. Kreuser moved that the librarian be
authorized to ask the proper city officials for an opinion, seconded by Mrs.
Steingraeber, the motion carried.
Mr. Kreuser moved to adjourn, seconded unanimously, the motion carried.
