Horton, lIbrarIan, also present. Miss Mrs. Dlbb opened the meeting at 7:35 P.M. Mrs. Telsl moved to approve the mInutes of the May 14, 1975 meetIng, Mrs. Dlbb seconded and motion ca.rìed. NEXT MEET! NG : WEDNESDAY, JULY 9, 1975, 7:30 P.M., CITY HAll CHAMBERS A cIty resolutIon reappoIntIng Mmes. Dlbb and Stelngraeber to serve on the lIbrary board until 1977 was read. ' The secretary read the letter sent to Waukesha County lIbrary System PlannIng CommIttee from the board that the Muskego PublIc library wIll not particIpate In a county library system, at this tIme. The resolutIon from the cIty with . theIr determination not to participate was placed on file. The secretary read the letter sent to Mayor ~ottfrled by Miss Horton In regard to the 5% budget cut. .Mlss Horton stated reasons and Justification for not being able to comply wIth the city's request. Ald. Colburn wIll speak to the Mayor about thIs matter. The board reviewed In detaIl the 1975 budget and could not come up wIth any Item that could be cut. Mrs. lelchtfuss moved that the board reinforce MIss Horton.s statements about the Impossibility of any cut In the budget, Mrs. Mimler seconded and motion carried. Ald. Colburn moved to approve expenditures In the amount of $4,205.45, Mrs. lelchtfuss seconded and motion carried. rMlss Horton reported that she has not receIved any communication from the Town of Norway about a non-resIdent contract with the lIbrary. A dIsplay of materIals to be used for the "A Yankee-Doodle" summer readIng program was presented by the librarian. Three students frorÎ. the Youth Employment Program wIll start work In the lIbrary, workIng a 40 hour week, on Monday, June 16th. Miss Horton attendeG an Information and referral workshop. Due to a lack of funding for the WisconsIn InformatIon Service, librarIes that can have been asked to help out with these servIces. The lIbrarian Is serving on the acqulstlon sub-committee of the LIbrary Council of MetropolItan Milwaukee. They wIll be studyIng cooperatIve library acquisI- tIons in the LCOMM area. Miss Horton presented a request for a lIbrary Clerk I. She had been advIsed by the Mayor to explore the possibility of hiring a clerk under CETA. Mrs. Mimler moved that the lIbrarIan proceed with hIring a Library Clerk I under the County Comprehensive Employment TraInIng Act, Mrs. Telsl seconded and motIon carried. '.. ,,' ." .". Library Board Minutes - June 11, 1975 Page 2 A request for an Increase In open hours was presented by Miss Horton. The library hours requested are 11:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M., Monday thru Thursday, 11:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. on Friday, and 11:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, Increasing the ópen hours from 40 hours per week to 46 hours. Mrs. Mlmler moved to adopt the new ope~ hour program from 40 to 46 hours as,outllned by the librarian, Mrs. Lelchtfuss .' seconded and motion carried. l A thank you note signed by 36 first graders and their teacher from St. Leonard's school was read. They appreciated the warm welcome and Interesting program pre- sented by the lIbrarian for them on their recent fIeld trIp to the library. Ald.
