lbm19740911~ , ~ ~ MUSKEGO PUBLIC liBRARY BOARD MEETING CITY COUNCil CHAMBERS SEPTEMBER 11, 1974 PRESENT: Pres. Dlbb, members Buhrandt, Ald. Colburn, Sup't. Kreuser, lelchtfuss, Stelngraeber and Teisl. Miss Horton also present. Mrs. Dlbb called the meeting to order at 7:35 P.M. Mrs. Teisl moved approval of the August 20, 1974 minutes, Mrs. leichtfuss seconded and motion carried. NEXT MEETING - WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 9, 1974, 7:30 P.M., CITY CHAMBERS. Miss Horton received an application for a library position, It will be acknow- ledged and placed on file. Mrs. Buhrandt moved approval of bills In the amount of $3,707.69, Mrs. Steln- graeber seconded and motion carried. Mrs. Stelngraeber presented the nominating committee's slate of officers: Pres., Mrs. Dibb, Treas., Mrs. Modlinskl and Sec. Mrs. Telsl. Mr. Kreuser moved that nominations be closed and the secretary be instructed to cast the unanimous ballot for their election; the position of V. Pres. to be filled at the next meeting, Mrs. leichtfuss seconded and motion carried. No report on the library System's Committee. Miss Horton reported that the librarian's Advisory Committee is ready to submit it's final plan for funding a county library system to the System's Committee. The librarians have formed an Alliance of Waukesha County librarians which will continue to meet after their duties as an advisory group have been discontinued. Miss Horton reported that the problem with the Bonner family's (lake Denoon) refusal to pay the $5.00 refundable non-resident's deposit for a Muskego library card was resolved satisfactorily when their legal residence was established as Wauwatosa. Miss Horton presented a new personnel request for the library. Position #1 for an AS5;scant librarian and position #2 for a library page. Mrs. lelchtfuss moved ~o accept the request, Mrs. Buhrandt seconded and the motion carried. The proposed budget for 1975 and the justification for the requests was discussed. It was suggested that accoun~ #580-0451 (books, magazines, films, records and tapes) be Increased to $11.150.00 to cover the anticipated rise In the cost of these materials. Mrs. lelchtfuss moved to accept the proposed budget for 1975 in the amount of $57,850.70, Mrs. Buhrandt seconded and motion carried. Miss Horton, Mrs. Dibb and Mr. Kreuser plan to attend the October 2 budget meeting. Miss n~ ton reported that she has had to cut back the ordering of new books due to an ~rror made by the Council In cutting the 1974 library budget account of 580-0451 from the requested $9,400.00 to $8,650.00. Mr. Kreuser moved that the secretary be instructed to communicate to the Mayor that the Council be requested to live up to a promise made by the Mayor, in a letter dated DecembeT 20, 1973, to transfer funds to account 580-0451 to make up the difference of their cut from the $9,400.00 in the original budget because we have nearly run out of money and have had to cut back on the purchase of new books, Mrs. Lelchtfuss seconded and motion carried, . ~ << ~' Muskego Pub11c lIbrary Board MeetIng 9/11/74 Page 2 Mr. Kreuser moved that we authorIze a transfer of $300.00 fr9ffl account 580-048 to account 580-046, Mrs. 8uhrandt seconded and motion carried.
