PRESINT: Pres. Dibb, members Buhrandt, Ald. Czarnecki, ~uplt. Kreuser, Leicht-
fuss, Mlmler and Telst. Mrs. Lindhorst atso present.

Mrs. Dlbb opened the meeting at 7:45 P.M.
MIss Kathy Horton, candidate for the posItion of tlbrarian, was introduced to
the board. Miss Horton was excused from the meeting whl1e the board discussed
the "new Ilbrarian" commIttee's reconvnendation, the positIon's satary and pro-
batIonary periods as estab11shed by the cIty.
Mrs. Mimier moved that Kathy Horton be offered the position of Muskego's pub-
11c 1ibrarlan by a letter of employment with a beginning salary of $8,000
during the probationary periods, Mr. Kreuser seconded. After further discussion
the motion was amended to read "....at a beginning sa1ary of $8,000 and after
satisfactory comptetlon of the required probationary periods her sa1ary sha1t
be reconsidered", Mr. Kreuser seconded the amendment and the motion carried.
Corrections on the November 14, 1973 minutes were made on the second paragraph
of the second page, "Progress of the Neighborhood Youth Corp program was dis-
cussed. Mrs. Lindhorst has a prepared '1st....", Mrs. Tels1 moved to approve
the November t4, t973 minutes as corrected.
A tetter sent to the Lake Denoon Advancement Association exp1alning 1ibrary
pot Icy for summer/temporary resident borrowers was read by the secretary.
Mrs. Mimler moved to approve bi1ls In the amount of $3,190.06, Mrs. Buhrandt
seconded and motion carried.
Friends of the Library - no report.
Mrs. Telst reported that progress Is being made by the library system ptanning
committee at their meetings. Their next meeting Is Monday, December 17, '973
at WCTI.
Mr. Kreuser moved that the secretary be instructed to send Mrs. Petzmann
offlclat notification that the board wou1d appreciate receiving her Invoice
for consu1tant fees to enab1e the 11brary to c10se its 1973 books, Mrs. Mimler
seconded and motion carried.
Atderman Czarnecki wltl speak to Mrs. Bowyer about carrying over the t972 bud-
geted contIngency fund to 1974.
Mrs. Lindhorst reported that two girts from the Neighborhood Youth Corp program
are presentty working to hours a week In the tibrary.
After attending a budget meeting with the Mayor, Mmes. Dibb, Lelchtfuss and
Lindhorst understood that the onty budget cut to be made was the $t ,000 for
the part-time semi-professionat hetp sa1ary. Since that time other cuts have

The projector 1essons were postponed untl1 January when the new 11brarlan can
participate.
Mrs. Lindhorst was Instructed to purchase a cart and screen from the remainder
of the Woman's C1ub gift fund.
The consensus of the board was that to express the board's appreciation for
a volunteer's service to the 11brary with a gift would set a precedent. The
secretary was Instructed to send a 1etter of appreciation to Mrs. WI11ard
Anderson.
Mrs. Dibb presented Miss Horton with a letter of employment with a salary of
$8,000 which wl11 be re-eva1uated after the probationary periods. Miss Horton
accepted the offer and all the board offered their congratulations to her.
She wl11 start her new Job as 11brarlan In January of 1974.
Mrs. Mlmler moved for adjournment, Mrs. Lelchtfuss seconded and motion carried.
The meeting adjourned at 9:45 P.M.
