Mrs. Lindhorst reported receiving an application for a librarian position from
,.' Margaret Teisl. It. will be placed on file.
,The Priends group has decided to dona.te their l'emaining books to the Muskego W~:'s
Club. They are planning a united Woman.ts Club book sale to benefit the rettJ:4.3~.
Mrs. Taisl presented the report on the County Library Systems taeetiÍlg on March 21.
197:5. She suggested that copies of the librarians advisory committee recommenda-
. t:ionsbe -.de available to board members. Mrs. Teisl will be unable to attend the

Àpril 24" 1913 meeting. at 1:30 P.M., County Court House and asked any board member

. - Mrs. Lindhorst reported that she and four of the library staff 1Dembel's had attended
a demonstration of the operation of the new Xerox pho'to-copier.
Mrs. Dibb presented the display committeés report. She explained that several pub-
. lie libraries had been contacted about their policies" for displaying arts and crafts..
Most suggested. that no policy be written an4 tþe use of display items be left to the
discretion of the librarian. Waivers si~ by displayers are cODUIlonly in use to .

play. MrAes. Buhrandt and Dibb will present their recommendations to tbe board at the
next meeting on 8. waiver form to bè adopted, tha library area to be made available
for display, and a publicity release to inform the public of the displays and to ex.-

Mayor Gottfried joined the meeting and the board li-greed to dispense wi1;h the regular.
order of business to enable the Mayor to answer ~be boa:rd's questions on the fo110141-
.ing items: There will -be DO objection to putting a lib:rery display case under the
"Moose" picture in the city hall. He also gave p~l'D1ission to the library to continue
using the Council Chambers for mother's programs puring Story HG~r5. He did suggest
that a schedule or da.tes and time be set up. n; Mayor was very interested in Mr.
DeAngeli~t idea to use the library a.s the cityt~ :repository for old and new municipal
codes and ordinances. He volunteered to work wf:th Mrs. Lindhorst on a wa.y to handle

this information simply. and. efficiently in an effort to make it readily available to
the public. ÐesUggested that the sun"'OWlding communities be contact:ed about their
method for haac11ing all this information. In answer to the question ~f a new stor~.
age area. the Mayor said that as soon as the Lions start work. on the present storage
area and that a builder can be contacted. to start work the library will have a new,
approximately 14txl1' If storage area on the south side of the city hall basement:.
'In response to the .request for a bicycle rack for library patrons~ it was suggested
. ... th4l-t tþe Mayor contact Mr. Dahlen about the possibility of the city using one not
presently in use at Durhain Hill school.

Mrs. Lindhorst recommended renting a. pair of "dust collector" rugs, fiber backed~
to protect the library carpeting. Mrs. .Teisl moved that the library rent a pair
of 'nlgs, for use in front of the chargi~ desk. at a charge of 87.00 per month
for the remainder of 1915, Mrs. Buhrandtse~OI}ded and motion carried.
The gift of $200 from the Woman's Club was acknowledged and the secretary instructed
to write a thank you. Mrs. Dibb will handle publicity.

The librarian reported that there are 449 new library card holders, circulation of
books has grown from.3.579 in March of 1912 to 6,,204 in March of 1913 showing an
increase of 2.625 volues in use. 410 more. books were circulated in 1.~73 through
the school loan program and 90 more phonograph records.. 'I1is increase in circulation
has created an equal increase on the work load of the staff and a need for additional
help is indicated. Mrs. Lindhorst was instructed to. prepare a recommendation'as to.
the type of help most needed, skilled" unskilled or volunteer, which would serve the.
library's present needs.

It was agreed to wait WItil the next meeting bff)re taking action on a $50 per year
maintenance contract for the IBM typewriter.
t<frs. Lindhorst was instructed to talk with Mr. John Thomas about library partici-
pation in the school help program. .
Mrs. Mimier infonned the librarian that school hoard minutes may be used by the
public.
By concensus of the board. a charge of 10, per copy oJ to cover costs of paper, fluid" developer and the 4, per copy Xerox Corp. charge. will be paid by library
pärons using the new copier.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:40 P.M.
