Sobolewski and Teisi. Mrs~ Lindhorst also presentø
ABSENT: Mambers Kreuser and Narlock.
Mrs. Lenz opened the meeting at 7;40 PoM.
Mrs. Sobolewsklmoved approval of the August 26. 19'71 speoial budget
meeting and the September 8, 1971 re~jlar meeting mlnutes~ Mrs. Dibb
seoonded and mbtlon carried.
The next meeting will be held \iEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 10, 1971, 7=)0,P.Mo

Mrs. Modllnski moved approval of bills in the amount of $2.008.>8~
Mrs. Mimier seconded and motion carried.
Discussion on F..O"W~L" membership determined that the board belongs
as a group and the president and one me~ber will receive bulletins
and aetivlty i.nformation, to distribute to the board. dues to be paid
:f~om bUdget item .580-048..
MfS. 1;.tenz reported that Mayor Got;tfr1.ed and Mr.. Foldy had approached
, her wi th the suggestion that the board members speak to communi ty 01"-
gan1zations about contributing to a fund to carpet the new library. It was deoided to table the matter until a later date.

Mrs. Lindhorst reported that a job description with necessary quäli-
fications was prepared and submitted to the Wisconsin Unemployment
Co'nmisslon for a full time cataloger-classifier.
Mrs.. Lenz explained tilat budget changes as discussed with the Finance
Committee would be made and distributed to Ccmmon Council members for
their budget rneeti!t..g on November 1, 1971., She thought it unnecessary
for the whole board to atter~ the session but she and Mrs. Lindhorst
will attend..
A negotltat1ng group has been formed to represent employees of the
city hallt building lnspectorts office and the 11brarYti Mrs. Jean
Luther will repres~nt the library personnel- The question of the
wage set-up for pages will be b~oußht to their attention.
Mrs. Lindhorst re~orted that the workshop in Oshkosh ceutered on the
uses of Micro-film readers and that while interesting and informative
it was aimed more toward school useage than small library use~

, Registration for the Midwest Library Conference on November 3-5 in
Ch1,oato will cost $10 per person plus luncheon and traveling ex-
pen~es. Mrs. Lindhorst had not decided whether or not she will at-
tend..

Mrs. Lenz reported that she had informed Mrs~ Larson of Atonement
Lutheran Church that the librarian vias too busy a.t this time to
initiate a s"l;ory-hour program"
Mrs. Lindhorst questioned the board about an
American Problems class seeking students for
Mrs. Mlmiar explained that students would be
have a free study hall period and would like
