Due to an important: City Buildiøg Camdttee meeting to be held on August 18.
1971. the same date as our regularly scheduled meeting, it was det!ided 'to move
our meeting ahead to August 12. 1971..
Mrs. Mimier, vice presiden't. opened the meeting at 7:35 P.M.

of Muskego Departments

I bad agreed, as you may remember # at our last board meeUq to survey
the praoUces in the various City departm.en ts regard1n9 tbe utilization of
time clocks. This I have done and summanze as follows:
.... In the City Hall itself -
Those who might be construed as administrative peI'SODDel or heads
of department or: elected officials are not required to punch a time clock.
... PoUce Department -
The police are not requ1red to punoh the time clock ... bav. countered,
by sayiD9 it Is a negotiable Item.
... Highway Department...
All employees of the Highway Department regularly punch 111 and
punob out.
... Bul1dlnv Inspectors-Engineering Department...
No one punches either In or out.
~.. Recreation Department -
No employee punches In or out.
I might add that most people I contacted agreed that it would be lmpracUcal
for Recreation and Bul1dlngInspector employees to punch 1D at the City Hall
and receive full pay for tbeir transporting themselves to their place of employ-
ment. I also have received indications from a number of city officials and
department heads tbat the wbole subject 'of time clocks Is under careful
scrutiny and that a decls1onw111 be made shortly as to whether or not the
practice will be continued.
