Board members planning to attend the S~WRPC meeting w1ll meet on WED- NESDAY, AUGUST 11, 1971, 6:45 P.M., at the 11brarl. The secretary read a letter from Governor Lucey advising that the Senate Republioancaucus R~d passed a substltutebudget bill ellmi- , nating fund1ng for county library planning committees and reglonal l1brary 81stemsand urged citizens to contact appropriate members the Legislature t~ restore the funds when the matter 18 cons1dered Conference Oommittee. It was suggested that board members telepho Rep. Stallbaum, Rep. Shabasz and Sen. Devitt at their home and exp , their disapproval ot the substitute budget bill.. "rs. Lindhorst read a letter from lone Nelson oomp11menting the Bui - lng report but suggesting that informat1on be 1nserted in the repo to atrenthen it and ind1cate the need 'by 1980 for a library of 11.0 sq. ft. based on projected populatlongrowth 1n Muskegoo 8 Mrs. Ll-ndhorst read a letter from the1l,ibrary staff reg1stering the dissatisfaction with having to use the time clock at City Hall and request1ng the board to take some action on the matter. Mr. Krauss .oved that the letter be noted in the ~1nutes and brought up again at the budget d1sou8s10n meeting when pol1cies are formed. seconded by Mrs. Lelohtfuss and motion d1d not oarry- tlrs. Mrs. Lenz gave the report on the Friends of the Library's profits from their booth at Country Fair Days. . A total of $240..80 was earn "". . - ,.. . The Building Committee report by Mrs. Kimier was read by ~rs. Lanz. Mrs. K1mler had attended a meeting with the arohitect on July 12, 1971 and reports that there w1l1 be a publio telephone in the bu11d- ing.: A book return slot will be provided in the front door of the buiid1ng which can be locked when the library is open, the library 18 to prov1de a container for books. The bids have been let with alternate vinyl and oarpeted floors. The fire door will be equipped w1th a buzzer which will ring until manually turned off. A stainless s1nkwill be installed in the work room. other cabinets for storage and workspaoe to be provld~d by the library. The office will be lStxlS'. K1mler requested tbat the follow1ng be added to the agenda: Cons1deration be given as to when a librarian 1s to be h1red and bours that the library 1s to be open to the public. Mrs. Sobolewskl . and Mrs. Lindhorst w1ll meet and discuss the operat1on of the new l1brary tor evaluation of personnel needed 1n the new 11brary and w111 report at the August meeting. A committee was chosen to work with the archltect's color consultant and to help ohose furnish1ngs for the new library. "mes. Lenz and Sobolewski w1l1 serve on the committee. IIr. Kreuser agreed to des1gn a book drop container that w1ll alle- viate most of the problems encountered with the publloB use of same. Mrs. Dibb presented the nom1nating committee's slate of officers for 1971-1972. Present officers, Pres. Mrs. Lenz. V.Pres. Mrs. Kimler. Tress. Mrs. Modlinski, Sec. Mrs. Telsl and. Par11amentarian IIr. Kreuser agreed to remain ln their pos1tlons for another term. Mr. Kreuser moved to olose nom1nations and that the seoretary be lnstructed to cast unanimous ballot for the slate as presented, seoonded by Mrs. Le1.4btfuss and motion carried. It was agreed that oopies of the mlnute~ àe sent to absentee members aSSOOD.as posslble after a board meet1ng. . Mr. Kreuser moved to adjourn~ seconded by Mrs. Mod11nskl and motlon carried.
