Mrs. Sobolewski moved to accept the August 5, 1970 minutes, Mrs. Modlinski
se(!onded and motion carr:.te(i.
Mrs. Mimier moved to accept the September 1, 1970 minutes, Mrs.. Df.bb seconded
and motion carried.
The next meetin~ will be held on OCtOBER 14, 1970, 7: q,S P.M., BAY LANE SCHOOL.
Mrs. Mimier DlOV;!d that a recommendation favoring the affiliation of the \'1. I.~. A.
with the t'l. L. A. be sent to the ~". L. T. A. executive board, Mrs. Dibb seconded and
motion carried..
Mrs. Modlinski moved to approve bills in the amount of $2, 5lJ.6. 06, of which $10.80
is from the encumbered account, Mrs. Mimier seconded and motion carried..
Mrs.. Lenz reported on the Friend' 9 of the Library's recent election of officers.
She will continue to serve as actinq chairman; Mrs.. Elaine Opala, Sel.!retary;
Mrs. Marge Baseler, Treasurer; and Mrs.. Edna Smart, Publicity. Proceeds of.. the
book sale are $220, raffle ticket sale netted $J5U :for a tÇJtal of $37U earned
at the Country Fair. The Friends have $483.31 in their bank account~ A finane.ial
statement is being prepared and wil1r be sent out' soon.

Mrs. Lem reported that she and Mrs. Lindhorst had met informally wd.t'h 'the
mayor to review the 1970-71 library budget. Dates tQ remember: SEPTEMBER 23
- Capitol Ilxpendi ture Cammi ttee meeting; ~'lEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 30, - the bud-
get will be presented to the finance conmittee; NOVEMBER 2, at 8:00 P.M." the
budget to be presented to the COß1DOn council; NOVEMBER 30, 8:00 P,M., at the
higbschool" a public hearin,'5 on the budget; DECEMBER 8, the council will vote
on budget adoption.
Mrs. Lindhorst reported rel.!eiving info~ation on the W..L.A. Conferance
program. The conference will be held October 14-16, 1970 at Lake Lawn Lodge
J.n ~lavan. The main speaker at the banquet on October 15 will be Stuart Udall,
former U.. S. Seeretary of the Interior.. Mrs. Lindhorst requested that board mem-
bers interested in attending inform her soon so she can send the reservations.
Library systems were discussed and since none has bees establi shed in the coun1:y
or the Southeastern district, it was suggested that Mrs. Lindhorst speak to Miss
Nelson and Mr. Jambrek on the subject at the {IJ. L. A. conference anq. report back
any progress being made along those lines.

Mrs. Lindhorst reported receivi~~ an application for the position of head
1 ibrar1 an. She was advised to inform the applicant that we can make no com
'~nts for employment at the present time but will keep the application on
file.
