' Mrs. LIndhorst, librarian, also present. ~A April 8. 1970 - - PRESENT: ABSENT: Messrs. Kreuser and O'Connell. Mrs. Lenz opened the meeting at 1:55 p.m. Mrs. Lelchtfuss moved to approve the March 11, 1910 minutes, Mrs. D1bb seconded and motlon carried. The next board meeting will be held on WEDNESDAY, MAY 13. 1970. 1145 p.m. at BAY LANE SCHOOL LIBRARY. A copy of the Library Bill of R1ghts was received from the A.L.A. Mrs. Lindhorst will frame It for display at the library. Mrs. Modlinski moved to approve bills in the amount of $598014, Mrs. Le1chtfuss seconded and motion carried. Mrs. Lenz reported that the Friends of the Library placed an ad in the Milwaukee Journal requesting Muskego historical materials and the library has already reoeived calls offering information and materials. The Friends are compiling a report with the piotures of present library quarters whioh will be distributed to Muskego residents with the intent to encourage support for a new library facility. Mrs. Lindhorst reported that the minimum wage is as follows,- 17 yrso and under, $1.10 per hour and 18 yrs. and over, $1.30 per hour. Mrs. M1mier moved that we comply with the statutory wage minimum of $1.10 per hour for start1ng pages, seconded by Mrs. Teisl, motion carriedo Mrs. Lindhorst reported that Mr. Narlook will take up the matter ot tines, damages and photo-copier charges with the Finance committee and will call her back with their deoision. ",' - I - The board. was informed that the M.N.E.A. has decided to ~et up 4 spec1al library bank acoount with the ~379.?2 they had donated to the 1lbr~ry an~ le~ it ea~n interest until needed. Since space 1s at a premium it has been decided to dispense with the Ida Mae Haacke Memorial shelf and place the books in the regular collection. The books will be specially marked to make them stand out. The secretary reported sending a thank you letter to the Muskego Woman's Club for their "200 gifto . i- ... .c" , ~ 1 Muske3o Public Library Board Meeting April 8, 1910 Page 2 The secretary was instructed to write to Mayor Gottfried requesting reappointment to the board of Mrs. Sobolewsk1 and herselfo The board has decided to continue investigating other types of l1brary structures; metal, pre-fab, etc. After d1ßcussion on costs of different brands of typewriters, Mrs. Lindhorst was advised to make the best deal uosslble with the amount budgeted for that purpose. . Mrs. Modlinski moved for adjournment, Mrs. Lelchtfuss seconded and motion carried.
