PRESENT: All board members and Mrs. Llndhorst, Llbrarlan. -
Cha1rman, Mrs. Lenz. opened the meeting at 7t55 p.m.
Mrs. Mimler moved approval of the January 14 minutes, Mrs. Dibb
seconded and motion carrledo
The next board meeting will be held on MARCH 11, 1970, 7:45 P.M.,
BAY LANE SCHOOL LIBRARY.
The second reading of the book selectlon policy was given. Mrs.
Mimier moved to adopt the book selection policy as amended 1n pa~a-
gra::-hs 4 and 7. Mrs. Le1chtfuss seoonded and motlon carriedq .
The second reading of the attendance polley was given, Mrs. Mim1e~ .
moved to adopt the attendance polley as amended. deleting ")/4 vc)te""
s3oonded by Mrs. Modllnskl and the motion carried. .
M~s. Modllnski moved approval of bills in the amount of $2.301.1.13.

Mrs. Modlinskl moved to approve encumbered aocount in the amount of
$21).01, Mrs. Leichtfuss seconded and motion carried.
Mrs. Dibb~ep~rteå ~n information received from the MIlwaukee Publ~c
Museum about d1splay oases for our ship oollect1on. ~hey haven't
any ava1lable for loan or rental and advised us to have cases o~stom
built to 1nsure proper protect1on. Mr. Kreuser will ask the school
district's insurance advisor for his opinion on insuring our collection.
Mrs. Lindnorst subTIltted the library annual reuort to the board. Mrs.
Leiohtfuss moved to accept the annual reuort. Mrs. Mimier seoonded and
motion carried.
Mr. O'connell will check into the matter of using fine and replacement
monies collected, 1nstead of budgeted book funde. to ~urchase replace-
ments of wor~-out or ru1ne~ books and reoords.
It has been suggested that library board 'nemb_~ and the Muskege
Friedns of the Library group for~ teams to s~"k at community or~n-
ization~s meetings giving publicity and support to the up-co~ine'
referendum on building a new city hall.
Mrs. Lenz introduced and welcomed our new member, Mrs. Sobolewski,
to the boardo

Admiral Farragut Academy's P.R. officer, requesting the donatlor of

the ship, "Hartford", fro~ our oollection. The "Hartford" was
Admiral Farragut's flagship and would be an important addition to the sohool's new museum which is to be dedicated on April 26. Mr. Kr~.user moved that the library board 1nform Farragut Academy thr--t

to amend the motion by inserting "in view of Mr. Hauk's wishes",

Mrs. Lindhorst explained Remington Band's offer of free service in
planning shelving for the new library. It was decided to invlt~ the arohiteots, with their library plans and catalogs, to the
Maroh 11, regular meeting.
The extreme cold weather and poor heating facilities in the library made the purchase of a portable heating unit neoessary, Mrs. Lir<ihorst
advised the board.
Mr. Kreuser moved to adjourn, seoonded unanimously and motion oE'.rr1ed.
