Muskego Pub~~c Library Board Meeting - January 21, 1965

This was a special meeting for discussion of the budget to
be presented to the Finance Committee of the City of Muslcego.
Cbange to city a-vernmen"t makes it necessary for the Library
Board to have it s budget ready earlier this year.
The "following budget considerations were discussed ard
agreed upon.
appropriation of an amount to enable the library
staff to have a monthly meetirg for the purpose of
di scussing nellv materials and coordinating services.
page service to be increased three hours per week,
to provide thl s service for Monday evening 5
library assistant to work one extra ni gpt per mon"tb
increase ~n hours of clerical help from 22 to 25 bours
Mrs. Mimier moved, and Mr. Kapellca seconded that Mrs. Lindhorstts
salary be increased 15~ per hour, making it $1.65 an hour.
Mrs. Mimier moved, and Mr. Kapelka seconded that Mrs. Pelzmants
salary for Uæ unscheduled library hours be increased from
42.50 to $3.00 per hour. jTæ
Board considers both of the above token increases. In the near
future the Library Board wí 11 study the matter of salary and benefits
for all staff members, and set up a definite schedule.
Book buying will include the purchase of a new encyclopedia.
$250.00 has been appropriated for the purchase of phonograpb
records, since this service, recently initiated thru the
generosity of' the Newcomers Club, has been entbusiastically
received, and ,should be expanded.
Binding costs will be :increased for the olDllling year because
many books, ha'vi.rg been in use for a long time, wi 11 have to
be rep~ired or r-eplaced, and also because binding was budgeted
very low last year.
The l:api tal out lay provides for a minimum addition of bookt
stack and a~ card cabinet.
The Board agreed to accept the buiget as attached hereto, and
to present it to the Finance Committee. Mrs.Pelzman was
asked to prepare copie s of the budget, for the Librar'y Board
menbers, and for the Finmce Committee. Mrs. Leichtfuss will prepare the annual report of the library activities" to support
