After review and signature, a motion was made by Mr. Kapelka
to approve payment of the past month's bills amounting to
$1,248.2[5. This motion wa.S seconded by Mrs. Mimier.
Mrs. Pelzmannsubmitted the ApPl"opriation.s and Expenditures
Report which was reviewed by the Board members and a copy of
same is attached to these minutes.
Mrs. Mimier moved approval of last month's minutes, this was
seconded by Mr. Kapelka and unanimously agreed upon.
Mrs. Mimier reported that the School Board approved the opening
of any school library in the district for summer hours if a
l~ompeti tent librarian was available. This is no t feasible at
this late date although some resldents of Mill Valley area
expressed disappointment at not having available lib:rary hours
at their school this summer.
The new record collection at our library was the next subJect
of d:iscl1.ssion. Mrs. Pelzmann reported on her findings after
I~ons:iderable chel~king with various surrounding libraries and
record supply stores for equipment, etc. She explained the
method of cataloging she is planning on using.
After dlScussion the followlng policies were approved by the
BOBrd members wlth reference to this record collection:
1. The adult card system will be used -- in other words,
records may be borrowed by oatrons 14 years of age
and over.
2. Bol"'rowe:rs will be asked to check condition of record
01' album before removing from. the library and the
librarian on duty will recheck when the rel~ord is
returned. Any charges necessary for a damaged record
will be left to the discretion of the librarian on
duty or referred to Mrs. Pelzmann.
3. Reeords or albums may be borrowed for a period of one
week, they will not be r'enewab.le but may be reserved.
A fine of 5~ per day per' disk \l\Till be charged when
not returned on time.
4. Number of records that may be borr owed at one time will
be limited t()t:me album or two separate discs.

Labels will be placed on record pockets with pertinent information
on the care of the reeords and a mimeographed list of rules will be placed in the pocket also.
It was unanimously agreed that the finemney Mrs. Pelzmann
has so diligently acc'Wllulated will be used toward the purchase
of a good, well-built record player for library use with the
balanee to be used tm~ard the pur(~hase oi' chlldren's records.

Mr. Kreuser offered the serVlees of his son, Mike, to build
tub f:iles for the storing of the records and Mr. Kapelka
volunteered to build a table for the record player and flIes. Arrangements will be made to (~lear the northwest corner of
the l:ibrary enabllng Mrs.. Pel'z;mann to establish a "Record Corner".
The Fall schedule was discussed and as of September .1, 1964 the
l:ibrary hours will be as follows:

The next Board meeting will be held on July 28th at 1:00 P.M.
at the library.
