for their payment was made by Olga Mi'mier, seconded by Ruth
Leichtfuss.
A copy of t,he Appropriations and Expenditures Report as
submitted by Helen Pelzmann is attached to these minutes.
Mrs.Pelzmann had wonderful news to announce at this meeting -
the Muskego Newcomers Club presented a check for $150 to
Mrs. Pelzmann on Monday night for the purpose of starting
a record collection at the Muskego Library. This contribution
is greatly qp:reciated and Mrs. Pelzmann thanked the organization
on behalf of the .Board. A letter of thanks will also be sent.
Mrs.Pelzmann will proceed with preliminary work necessary
to establishing a system for borrowing the records when
available. It was tentatively agreed that the rental period
for records should be one week. Persons borrowing records
will 'be asked to spok check them when making the withdrawal
and the librarian on duty when they are returned will do the
same.
Mrs. Mattke, a member of the Newcomers CluQ will handle
the publicity of this addition to the library at the present
time and when the records are available the Board felt further
publicity in the local papers would be of value.
Summer library facilities were the next items for discussion-.
Mr. Faucett will not be available for services at the Mill
Valley Library most of the summer and as circulation during
the surmner of 1963 had dropped to only 800 at Mill Valley, it was agreed to have only the Tess Corners School Library
open during the summer along with the Public Library. As
in the past we shall utilize the school co11ecticms if necessary
to provide adequate reading for the summer borrowers.
Mrs. :Pe1zmann showed us attractive book marks and 1i~terature
which will be used for summer library promotion. Announcements
will be distributed to each school child in the area.
Mrs. Pe1zmann reported on her attendance at the Milwaukee
Public Library meeting recently. The discussion was on the
subje(~t of Southeastern Wisconsin library cooperation.
