Muskego Town Library Board Veeting - February 13, 1964

This was a special meeting of the Librar,r Board for budget purposes.
at 8:00 P. M. at the library.
Mrs. Felmnann handed out addittoD.al pamphlets for the Small Library Project
of ALA to each member for study.

Mr. Kreuser' questioned the rental of books versus purchase of books for
the lib:rary. Mrs. Pelzmann feels that purchasing is 'the better plan even
though a little slower. The better selection be:Lng an important factor.
Mr. Kreuser questioned the increase in library assistant sa1.a.ry.
was reviewed.

a bru.e :indication of library use.
J.f'ter chectlng previous budgets, it DS noted that this year's increase
averages abollt ~he sane, that is, between 13% and 14%.
The presentation of the budget .to the Town Board should definitely show a
3-year period increase in bUdge.t and a ,3-;year increase in circulation.
Discussion followed pertA1ningto tlrs. :Aalzmann's sa..1.ary. Mrs. 1f:ï.m;ier
moved that we increase the proposed bI1dget to $11,900, increasing Mrs.
Pelzmannls hOllrly rate for unsc.hedllled hours to 12.50. This was seconded
by Mr. Kapelka and the Board agreed unanimously.

As our books close on :March 25, and the T01I11 Board closes their books On
Maroh 11. a letter to the Town Ohairman is necessar,y to request that
they allow IlS to retain that encumbered balance.
Our next meeting is on February 26th at Tess Corners School.
