Truax did not accurately complete the application to reflect her past record. Ms. Truax
was requested to appear before the Committee. She stated that she misunderstood the
application form. Ald. Werner suggested that Ms. Truax consider withdrawing her
application at this time. Ms. Truax stated she only applied for the license to volunteer at

NEW BUSINESS
Review Request from Clint and Terri Boyer for Reimbursement
Ald. Soltysiak stated the Boyers live on Simandl and a tree fell across the road as a
result of the tornado in June. Calls were made to the City to have the tree removed.
The City did not respond so the homeowners hired a contractor to remove the tree.
They are now asking to be reimbursed for the expense incurred in the amount of $600.
Ald. Fiedler expressed concern that residents will take matters into their own hands if
they do not believe the City has responded timely to a situation. Ald. Soltysiak noted
that the Boyers did make several attempts to have the City remove the tree. They
became concerned that it could pose a hazard if an emergency vehicle had to get
through. The Committee did note that requests of this kind would be reviewed on a
case-by-case basis. Ald. Fiedler moved to approve $600 reimbursement for Clint
and Terri Boyer. Ald. Werner seconded; motion carried.
Recommendation Regarding Eligibility from County Library Tax
Mayor Johnson stated this was done annually to obtain an exemption from the county
library levy. The City must certify that during budget year 2011, its library will be
provided and be allowed to expend no less than the County rate in the prior year. Ald.
Werner moved to recommend approval. Ald. Fiedler seconded; motion carried.
