MINUTES OF MEETING HELD TUESDAY, JUNE 8, 2004
The meeting was called to order at 7:15 PM by Mayor Slocomb with Committee Members
Salentine, Schroeder and Madden present along with Aldermen Borgman, Melcher and
Patterson, and Acting Clerk-Treasurer Blenski. Ald. Buckmaster arrived during the meeting.
Those present recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
Mayor Slocomb stated the meeting was noticed in accordance with the open meeting law.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Ald. Salentine moved to approve minutes of the meeting held June 2, 2004. Seconded by Ald.
Schroeder, motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS
Recommend Approval of Bid - Freedom Square Outlet Storm Sewer
The following bids were received for the project:
Mainline Sewer & Water $433,805.00
Rawson Contractors $457,570.00
Tomasini, Inc. $513,785.00
Wanasek Corp. $354,510.00
Super Excavators $415,715.00
Musson Brothers $498,137.50
Ald. Salentine moved to recommend acceptance of the low bid submitted by Wanasek Corp. in
the amount of $354,510. Ald. Schroeder seconded. Ald. Salentine noted that the bid
submitted was $250,000 less than anticipated. Motion carried.
Designating Public Depositories and Authorizing Withdrawal of Monies
Mayor Slocomb stated this is being done in preparation of Janice Moyer becoming the new
Clerk-Treasurer. Ald. Salentine moved to recommend authorization. Ald. Madden seconded;
motion carried.
VOUCHER APPROVAL
Ald. Salentine moved for approval of payment of General Vouchers in the amount of
$671,366, Utility Vouchers in the amount of $37,642.03 and Tax Checks in the amount of
$63.29. Ald. Schroeder seconded; motion carried.
ADJOURNMENT
Ald. Madden moved to adjourn at 7:24 PM. Ald. Schroeder seconded; motion carried.
