MINUTES OF MEETING HELD TUESDAY, MAY 25, 2004
The meeting was called to order at 7:17 PM by Mayor Slocomb with Committee Members
Salentine and Schroeder present along with Aldermen Borgman, Buckmaster, Melcher and
Patterson, Acting Planning Director Muenkel, and Acting Clerk-Treasurer Blenski. Ald.
Madden was absent.
Mayor Slocomb stated the meeting was noticed in accordance with the open meeting law.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Ald. Salentine moved to approve minutes of the meeting held May 19, 2004. Seconded by
Ald. Schroeder, motion carried.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Recommend Approval of Conservation and Trail Fees
Mayor Slocomb noted that the Finance Committee did not make a recommendation regarding
the Conservation and Trail fees. Ald. Salentine moved to recommend the following:
$580 per acre for Conservation $60 per Single-Family Unit for Trails
$45 per Multi-Family Unit for Trails
Ald. Schroeder seconded; motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS
Review Bids for 2004 Road Improvement Program
The following bids were received:
Payne & Dolan, Inc. $426,395.50
Black Diamond Group, Inc. $448,120.50
Ald. Salentine moved to recommend acceptance of bid submitted by Payne & Dolan, Inc. in
the amount of $426,395.50. Ald. Schroeder seconded. He asked what was budgeted. The
Mayor responded $450,000. Ald. Schroeder asked for a list of roads, parking lots, etc. that are
scheduled for improvement. Mayor responded Muskego Dam Road, Tess Corners Drive (from
Janesville to College), and Ruby Court would be extensively improved. In addition, Jean Drive,
Sue Marie Court and the other streets in the Woodcrest Subdivision will receive a light milling,
top lift and a driving surface. No parking lots are scheduled to be paved. Motion carried.
VOUCHER APPROVAL
Ald. Schroeder moved for approval of payment of General Vouchers in the amount of
$2,152,476.35 and Utility Vouchers in the amount of $110,453.13. Ald. Salentine seconded;
motion carried.
ADJOURNMENT
Ald. Schroeder moved to adjourn at 7:25 PM. Ald. Salentine seconded; motion carried.
