FM20030826 FINANCE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO Approved MINUTES OF MEETING HELD TUESDAY, AUGUST 26, 2003 The meeting was called to order at 7:07 pm by Mayor Slocomb with Committee Members Petfalski, Salentine and Schroeder present. Also present were Ald. Buckmaster, Damaske, and Patterson, Clerk-Treasurer Marenda, and Deputy Clerk Blenski. Those present recited the Pledge of Allegiance. Mayor Slocomb noted the meeting was properly noticed in accordance with the open meeting law. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Ald. Petfalski moved to approve minutes of the meeting held August 20, 2003. Ald. Salentine seconded; motion carried. NEW BUSINESS Recommend Approval of Award of Bid - Parkland Drive Freedom Square Water Main The following bids were received for the project: Mainline Sewer & Water, Inc. $ 219,561.00 Globe Contractors, Inc. 141,887.00 Rawson Contractors 165,180.00 Musson Bros., Inc. 137,629.45 Super Excavators, Inc. 186,276.00 The City Engineers have recommended that the City substitute the alternate bid item for sod restoration in the amount of $4,875 instead of the base bid item for restoration with seed and mulch in the amount of $2,625, which results in a $2,250 net increase in the project cost as bid. Ald. Salentine moved to recommend acceptance of the low bid submitted by Musson Bros., Inc. in the amount of $137,629.45 plus the additional $2,250 for a total project cost of $139,879.45. Ald. Petfalski seconded; motion carried. It was noted the bids submitted were lower than anticipated. REDUCTION IN LETTER OF CREDIT Ald. Salentine moved to approve Letter of Credit reduction for Chamberlain Hills in the amount of $194,120.50 pursuant to a recommendation of Engineering/Building Inspection Director McMullen. Ald. Petfalski seconded; motion carried. VOUCHER APPROVAL Ald. Salentine moved to recommend approval of payment of General Vouchers in the amount of $461,620.12 and Utility Vouchers in the amount of $700,415.47. Ald. Schroeder seconded; motion carried.
