MINUTES OF MEETING HELD TUESDAY, JULY 9, 2002
The meeting was called to order at 7:05 PM by Mayor Slocomb with Committee
Members Sanders and Salentine present. Ald. Petfalski was absent. Also present
were Ald. Le Doux, Madden, and Damaske, Clerk-Treasurer Marenda and Planning
Director Turk. Ald. Patterson arrived during the meeting. Those present recited the
Pledge of Allegiance.
The Mayor stated the meeting was noticed in accordance with the Open Meeting Law.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Ald. Salentine moved to approve the minutes of meeting held June 25, 2002. Ald.
Sanders seconded; motion carried.
LICENSE APPROVALS
Ald. Salentine moved to recommend approval of Class “B”/”Class B” License for St.
Paul’s on 8/4/2002. Ald. Sanders seconded; motion carried.
Ald. Salentine moved to recommend approval of Class “B”/”Class B” License for
Muskego Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary on 8/2/2002. Ald. Sanders seconded;
motion carried.
Ald. Salentine moved to recommend approval of Class “B”/”Class B” License for
Muskego Community Festival for 8/23/2002-8/25/2002 and to waive fees. Ald. Sanders
seconded; motion carried.
Ald. Sanders moved to recommend approval of Temporary Operator’s License for R.
Bankenbusch for the Community Festival. Ald. Salentine seconded; motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS
Determine financing for design work for Bridge Rehab/Replacements A request
from Sean McMullen dated 7/3/02 was reviewed, requesting the use of $77,290.00 from
the Moorland and Durham Drive Extensions project fund to cover the cost for bridge
designs by R. A. Smith for the Muskego Dam Road and Jewel Crest Drive bridge
replacements, with additional funds budgeted in 2003 for the road projects to replace
those used for the bridge designs. Ald Salentine moved to approve. Ald. Sanders
seconded; motion carried.
Review Request for Funds to Replace Scale for Mailing System A request from
Jean Marenda dated 7/2/02 for a transfer of funds from Contingency in the amount of
$1,510.00 was reviewed. This cost is to cover replacement of our mailing scale since
repair parts are no longer available for our current scale and we are unable to obtain a
service agreement on our discontinued model, and unable to upgrade the scale to
accommodate the increase in postage as of June 30, 2002. Ald. Sanders moved to
recommend approval of transfer from contingency in the amount of $1,510.00. Ald.
Salentine seconded; motion carried.
Approve Boxhorn Big Muskego Launch Lights/Trenching The committee reviewed
a request from Craig Anderson dated 7/1/02 for approval of trenching costs in the

amount of $5,851.60 to put lights in at the Boxhorn Launch in accordance with the
lease agreement with Dick Bennett. The cost is covered within the matching grant from
the DNR Waterways Commission. Monthly maintenance and energy charge for the 6
lights is $57.90 per month and covered in the operating budget. Ald. Sanders stated he
would like to see underground lighting wiring*. Brian Turk noted this hasn’t been to
Plan Commission for approval. Ald. Sanders moved to defer. Ald. Salentine seconded;
motion carried.
Review request to purchase Microsoft Upgrade Advantage The committee
reviewed the memo from Joe Sommers dated 7/2/02 regarding upgrading our
Exchange Server, which was planned for 2003, but a savings of $2,185 can be had by
purchasing upgrade protection now in the amount of $4,995. Also an upgrade is
needed to our Window NT Client Access Licenses which can be done under the current
program for $2,184. Funds are available in the I.S. 2002 Capital Budget. Ald.
Salentine moved to approve the total cost of $7,179 for these upgrades from the 2002
Capital Budget Account 410.08.90.15.6505. Ald. Sanders seconded; motion carried.
VOUCHER APPROVAL
Ald. Sanders moved to recommend approval of payment of General Vouchers in the
amount of $889,560.45, and Utility Vouchers in the amount of $24,554.67. Ald.
Salentine seconded; motion carried.
ADJOURNMENT
Ald. Sanders moved to adjourn at 7:28 PM. Ald. Salentine seconded; motion carried.
