FINANCE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO Approved
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, 2001
The meeting was called to order at 7:02 PM by Mayor De Angelis with Committee
Members Slocomb, Sanders and Salentine present. Also present were Information
Systems Director Joe Sommers, Plan Director Brian Turk, and Deputy Clerk Jill
Blenski.
The Mayor stated the meeting was noticed in accordance with the Open Meeting Law.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Ald. Slocomb moved to approve the September 19, 2001 minutes. Ald. Salentine
seconded; motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS
Review Transfer of Funds for Virus Protection
Mr. Sommers appeared before the Committee to discuss the need for antivirus
software. He stated that our system is not sufficiently protected. The latest virus threat
demonstrated our vulnerability. Servicepacks will be used. However, antivirus
software is needed as a more reliable source of protection. The purchase would cover
all servers, desktops, and laptops and provide an additional 6 licenses. Ald. Slocomb
moved to approve the purchase and transfer $1,705 from Contingency. Ald. Sanders
seconded; motion carried. Mr. Sommers was dismissed.
VOUCHER APPROVAL
Ald. Salentine moved to recommend approval of payment of General Vouchers in the
amount of $432,036.48 and Utility Vouchers in the amount of $125,316.70. Ald.
Slocomb seconded; motion carried. Ald. Salentine requested larger print for reports.
LICENSE APPROVALS
The application for a Temporary Operator’s License submitted by Angela Koenings was
deferred by the Committee on September 19, 2001. Ms. Koenings was present to
further discuss the responsibilities of having a Temporary Operator’s License for the St.
Leonard Class of 1981 Reunion to be held on October 27, 2001. Ald. Salentine moved
to recommend approval. Ald. Slocomb seconded; motion carried. Following further
discussion with the Committee about the specific premise to be licensed at St. Leonard
School, Ms. Koenings requested that in addition to the basement cafeteria, the
stairway, first floor restrooms off of the stairs, corridor and back porch also be licensed.
Ald. Slocomb moved to recommend approval. Ald. Sanders seconded; motion carried.

Ald. Sanders moved to adjourn at 7:23 PM. Ald. Salentine seconded; motion carried.
