FM071001 FINANCE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO Approved MINUTES OF MEETING HELD TUESDAY, JULY 10, 2001 As Corrected 7/24/01 The meeting was called to order at 7:07 PM by Mayor De Angelis with Committee Members Slocomb, Salentine and Sanders present. Alderman Le Doux, Clerk-Treasurer Marenda and Brian Turk were also present. The Mayor stated the meeting was noticed in accordance with the Open Meeting Law. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Ald. Slocomb moved to approve the June 26, 2001 minutes. Ald. Sanders seconded; motion carried. NEW BUSINESS Review RFP: Planning & Engineering Services. Planning Director Turk advised the City is anticipating submittal for proposed power plant. The Plan Department is not staffed to handle the workload for the review and wish to seek the services of a consultant. El Paso has submitted a developer deposit of $20,000 and believe they are willing for the use of these funds to be used for the consultant’s review. Proposals due first week of August for consideration by Committee, potentially with contract underway in September with reviews starting after that time. Ald. Slocomb suggested the reference to “375 megawatt” be deleted. Ald. Salentine wanted assurances references and qualifications would be checked. Ald. Slocomb moved to approve Request for Proposal. Ald. Salentine seconded; motion carried 3- 0. Hiring of Special Counsel to Represent Assessor at Board of Review Ald. Salentine moved to recommend approval to hire Attorney Tim Andringa of Cramer Multhauf & Hammes LLP at $125.00 per hour to represent Assessor at Board of Review. Ald. Slocomb seconded; motion carried. VOUCHER APPROVAL Ald. Salentine moved to recommend approval of payment of General Vouchers in the amount of $463,675.65 , Utility Vouchers in the amount of $171,485.50, and Tax Checks in amount of $45.00. Ald. Sanders seconded; motion carried. Asbestos Abatement Pioneer Drive Properties. Sean McMullen advised the DNR requested air quality monitoring and more testing. Asbestos was found and must be abated on the Monnheim, Somogji and McIntosh properties. Ald. Salentine moved to approve the approximate cost of about $1,300 for the air quality sampling by Herenda Environmental and the quote of $10,017 by Anser Environmental Services for the asbestos abatement.
