MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JUNE 20, 2001
Mayor David De Angelis called the meeting to order at 7:08PM with Committee members Slocomb and
Sanders present. Alderman Salentine was excused.
The mayor stated the meeting was noticed in accordance with the Open Meeting Law.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Alderman Slocomb moved to approve the June 12, 2001 minutes. Alderman Sanders seconded, motion
carried.
LICENSE APPROVALS
Alderman Slocomb moved to recommend approval of operator’s licenses for Steven Neuman, Katherine
Verhalen, and Lorene Erickson subject to receipt of fees, favorable police reports and verification of
schooling. Alderman Sanders seconded, motion carried 2-0.
Norman Krukowski was interviewed separately for Operator’s License due to past incident on police
report. After discussion, Alderman Sanders moved to recommend approval of the operators license for
Norman Krukowski subject to receipt of fees, favorable police reports and verification of schooling with
conditional reviews at 3, 6, 9, and12 month. Alderman Slocomb seconded, motion carried 2-0.
Alderman Sanders moved to recommend approval of the operator’s license for Richard Haas subject to
receipt of fees, favorable police reports and verification of schooling. Alderman Slocomb seconded,
motion carried 2-0.
Alderman Sanders moved to approve the following dates and times for the Broke Spoke to have live
music outside:

July 27 & 28 – Anniversary Party

Friday, June 27 – from 8:00PM to 11:30PM

Saturday, June 27 – from 8:00PM to 12:00AM
Along with the above times Broke Spoke has agreed to have security on site, parking attendants,
will clean the area early the following mornings, and the stage is be facing the west and the
manager will also check into having some kind of back drop for the stage to keep the sound of the
music from carrying.

Music from 8:00PM to 11:30PM

Friday and Saturday nights the outdoor music will end at 11:00PM.
For all above dates the establishment has permission from a landowner to use his fields for parking,
which will have attendants on duty.
Alderman Slocomb seconded, carried 2-0.
Manager Richard Haas also requested permission, for the summer months, for outdoor premise license
until 12:00AM. Alderman Sanders moved to approve a Class B license approval with the condition that it
would be allowed for the month of July.

Review Police Department memo – Broke Spoke.
A discussion was held with Richard Haas reference unlicensed bartenders working in his establishment.
Discussion followed with Haas being informed of the consequences of future violations in addition to
strict enforcement of regulations.
PERIODIC LICENSE REVIEW
Muskego Shores Community Association requests permission for the installation of markers in the swim
area. Alderman Sanders moved to approve and Alderman Slocomb seconded, motion carried 2-0.
St. Paul’s Lutheran Church requested a Class B License for their church picnic being held on Sunday,
August 5th. Alderman Slocum motion to approve with hours being 11:00AM to 5:00PM. Alderman
Sanders seconded, motion carried 2-0.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Finance Director Gunderson requested the matter of reviewing Long Term Disability Insurance plan be
deferred. Alderman Sanders approved the motion and Alderman Slocomb seconded, motion carried 2-0.
NEW BUSINESS
Amend Resolution Designating Public Officials to Issue Nontraffic Citations
Alderman Slocomb motioned to recommend approval, Alderman Sanders seconded, motion carried 2-0.
Approval of School Liaison Officer agreement 2001-2002
Alderman Slocomb motioned to recommend approval, Alderman Sanders seconded, motion carried 2-0.
2001-2002 Fees for GIS Custom Services
Alderman Sanders moved to defer, Alderman Slocomb seconded, motion carried 2-0.
2001-2002 Fees for Planning/Zoning Services
Alderman Sanders moved to defer, Alderman Slocomb seconded, motion carried 2-0.
Approval of Bluhm Playground
Alderman Slocomb motion for approval, Ald. Sanders seconded, motion carried 2-0.
Discuss Parks open bathroom hours
Alderman Slocomb moved to defer, Alderman Sanders seconded, motion carried 2-0.
MAINTENANCE AGREEMENTS
Renewal of agreement for Gasboy
Alderman Sanders motioned to approve the payment of $99.00, Alderman Sanders seconded, motion
carried 2-0.
Cognos Police Reporting agreement
Alderman Sanders motioned for approval of $500.00, Alderman Slocomb seconded, motion carried 2-0.
RELEASE OF FUNDS
Alderman Slocomb motioned for approval of the release of $1,000.00 cash bond for landscaping for
Woods Road Senior Housing. Alderman Sanders seconded, motion carried 2-0.

FINANCE DIRECTOR’S REPORT
Finance Director Dawn Gunderson reported work has begun on the 2002 Budget and the Departments
will be receiving the work schedules soon. The format is the same as the last two years.
Gunderson also stated the financial system conversion and transition will begin in July starting with
Payroll and General Ledger will be done in August.
COMMUNICATIONS AND ANY OTHER BUSINESS AS AUTHORIZED BY LAW
Alderman Sanders asked about the progress of the district boundaries and Mayor De Angelis stated he
was not aware if the requested changes were made to the maps.
Alderman Slocomb asked the progress of the Woods Road Project. Mayor stated the base course will be
laid next week and after that is completed the road will be open to local traffic and the project will
continue to the next section. Mayor De Angelis stated reported that Wisconsin Electric Power Co. is on
schedule but Ameritech is behind. The Mayor receives daily reports and updates.
Alderman Slocomb asked about the progress of the Severe Weather Siren Warning System. Mayor De
Angelis reported the sirens are all installed and functioning properly.
