MINUTES OF MEETING HELD TUESDAY, MAY 22, 2001
The meeting was called to order at 7:06 PM by Mayor De Angelis with Committee
Members Slocomb, Sanders and Salentine present. Aldermen Patterson, Petfalski and
Le Doux, as well as Planning Director Turk and Deputy Clerk Blenski were also
present.
The Mayor stated the meeting was noticed in accordance with the Open Meeting Law.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Ald. Salentine moved to approve the May 16, 2001 minutes. Ald. Sanders seconded;
motion carried.
PERSONAL APPEARANCES
Emergency Management Director for Waukesha County Jim Malueg presented a check
to the City in the amount of $44,671.30. The check represents reimbursement for
eligible costs for 2000 snow removal for the City’s worst 48-hour period.
LICENSE APPROVALS
The application submitted by Gretchen Seeker for an Operator’s License was reviewed
as well as the additional information the applicant was requested to provide. Ald.
Salentine moved to recommend approval. Ald. Slocomb seconded; motion carried.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
1. Review proposed resolution to set fees relating to Nonmetallic Mining Reclamation
This item was deferred from the May 16, 2001 meeting. Mr. Turk stated that the
proposed fees mimic what the DNR has recommended, which are as follows:

1 to 5 acres, does not include

mines < 1 acre
6 to 10 acres $600
11 to 15 acres $750
16 to 25 acres $1,000
26 to 50 acres $1,100
51 acres or larger $1,250
The City would be required to obtain DNR approval if it wanted the fees to be different.
However, the fees need to be established now, as the ordinance must be adopted by
June 1, 2001. Motion to recommend approval carried.
2. Establish Deposit/Forfeiture amount for violation of Nonmetallic Mining Code
This item was deferred from the May 16, 2001 meeting. The proposed amendment to
the schedule for Chapter 38 is $100. Motion to recommend approval carried.

3. Establish Deposit/Forfeiture Amount for Violation of Tree Code
This item was deferred from the May 16, 2001 meeting. The proposed amendment to
the schedule for Chapter 37 is $100. Motion to recommend approval carried
NEW BUSINESS
1. Hiring of Special Prosecutor – Traffic Violation
Ald. Slocomb moved to recommend approval to appoint the firm of Hippenmeyer, Reilly,
Moodie & Blum, S.C. as special prosecutor for a case involving a police officer’s family
member at an hourly rate of $80. Ald. Salentine seconded; motion carried.
VOUCHER APPROVAL
Ald. Salentine moved to recommend approval of payment of General Vouchers in the
amount of $883,671.92, Utility Vouchers in the amount of $267,190.66, and Tax
Checks in the amount of $26.89. Ald. Slocomb seconded; motion carried.
ADJOURNMENT
Ald. Sanders moved to adjourn at 7:25 PM. Ald. Slocomb seconded; motion carried.
