FINANCE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO Approved
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD TUESDAY, OCTOBER 24, 2000
The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. by Mayor De Angelis with Committee
Members Slocomb, Sanders and Salentine present. Also present were Aldermen
Chiaverotti and Le Doux, Engineering and Building Inspection Director McMullen,
Finance Director Gunderson, Lakes Project Coordinator Zagar, and Deputy Clerk
Blenski.
The Mayor stated the meeting was noticed in accordance with the Open Meeting Law.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Ald. Salentine moved to approve the October 18, 2000 minutes. Sanders seconded;
motion carried.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
1. Establish Salaries for Elected Officials for 2001 and Nonrepresented Scale
Ald. Slocomb moved to recommend increasing the 2001 salary schedule by 3.5% for
nonrepresented employees and to recommend increasing the salary for the 2001 -
2003 term for Aldermen in Districts 2, 4, 6 and 7 by 3.5% in 2001 and 2.5% in 2002.
Ald. Salentine seconded; motion carried.
2. Establish Resident and Nonresident Rates for Rescue Service
Ald. Salentine moved to recommend establishing rescue fees for 2001 as follows:
$244 for residents and $350 for nonresidents. Ald. Sanders seconded; motion carried.
3. Review Points for Nonrepresented Employees as Requested by Department Head
Ald. Slocomb moved to recommend the Job Description for the Accountant position be
amended to reflect additional duties and to change the points in the Problem
Resolution category from 70 to 81 and the points in the Authority and Responsibility
category from 70 to 81. The new point total will be 377, with the position remaining at
the G8 level. Ald. Sanders seconded; motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS
1. Urban Forestry Grant Program 2001
Mr. Zagar noted that the City’s cost for the proposed project was not to exceed
$3,743.50, with $2,402 of that amount in the form of in-kind services. Ald. Slocomb
moved to recommend approval to apply for the 2001 Urban Forestry Grant Program.
Ald. Salentine seconded; motion carried.
REDUCTION IN LETTER OF CREDIT - Quietwood Creek
Ald. Sanders moved to approve a Letter of Credit reduction in the amount of
$327,718.50 for Quietwood Creek based on the cost breakdown information submitted
by Mr. McMullen. Ald. Slocomb seconded; motion carried.

VOUCHER APPROVAL
Ald. Sanders moved to recommend approval of payment of General Vouchers in the
amount of $1,049,933.46 and Utility Vouchers in the amount of $578,329.13. Ald.
Slocomb seconded; motion carried.
ADJOURNMENT
Ald. Slocomb moved to adjourn at 7:18 p.m. Ald. Sanders seconded; motion carried.
