FINANCE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD TUESDAY, JULY 14, 1998
The meeting was called to order at 7:02 p.m. by Mayor De Angelis with Committee members
Slocomb, Sanders, and Salentine present. Also in attendance were Aldermen Chiaverotti and
Woodard, Aldermen Patterson and Pionek arrived during the meeting, and Deputy Clerk
Blenski.
The Mayor noted the meeting was noticed in accordance with the Open Meeting Law.
Licenses
An application was submitted by Karen Lewis for renewal of her operator’s license. Ms. Lewis
appeared before the Committee to discuss a 1997 arrest that appeared on the police report.
She presented assessment and class information to the Committee. Alderman Slocomb
moved to recommend approval of renewal of operator’s license for Karen Lewis for 1998 -
2000 subject to a 6-month and one-year review. Alderman Salentine seconded; motion carried
unanimously.
New Business
1. Review of Architectural Services - Kurth Park (Toki & Associates)
The Mayor stated that all approvals have been received regarding the agreement with Toki &
Associates for architectural services for Kurth Park. Alderman Salentine moved to recommend
approval. Alderman Slocomb seconded; motion carried unanimously.
Review Minutes of Previous Meeting
Alderman Salentine moved to amend the sixth paragraph (Membership in MRA) on page 2 of
the June 17, 1998 Finance Committee minutes to replace the words “at a fraction of the cost of
a labor attorney” with “at a cost equivalent to ten hours of labor attorney time.” Alderman
Sanders seconded; motion carried.
Voucher Approval
Alderman Salentine moved to recommend approval of General Fund vouchers in the amount
of $646,875.36, Tax Checks in the amount of $1,367.62, and Utility Vouchers in the amount of
$188,725.73. Alderman Sanders seconded; motion carried unanimously.
Release of Funds
Alderman Sanders moved to approve remaining balance of $1,000 be released to A.G.
Industries, Inc. which had been reserved for landscaping. The Plan Department recommends
release of the funds. Alderman Salentine seconded; motion carried unanimously.
Adjournment
Alderman Sanders moved to adjourn at 7:20 p.m. Seconded by Alderman Slocomb; motion
carried.
