FM021098 FINANCE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 1998 The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. by Mayor De Angelis with Committee members D’Acquisto, Salentine and Sanders present. Also in attendance were Aldermen Slocomb, Woodard and Patterson (arrived at 7:17 p.m.), Finance Director Gunderson and Deputy Clerk Blenski. Periodic License Review Mayor De Angelis noted that correspondence has been received from the Police Department regarding an underage drinking violation that occurred at Klub 24 on February 5. The license holder, Sueann Witt, appeared at the February 4, 1998 Finance Committee meeting for her third interview which was a condition of her license. The Committee determined that future interviews with the license holder would be on an as-needed basis. Due to this recent violation, Alderman D’Acquisto moved to send letter to Sueann Witt and operator/manager Riki Petrovsky requesting their appearance at the next (February 18) Finance Committee meeting. Alderman Salentine seconded; motion carried unanimously. The Mayor noted the meeting was noticed in accordance with the Open Meeting Law. The minutes of the February 4, 1998 meeting were reviewed and accepted. Unfinished Business 1. Further Review of Rescue Fee Bills Finance Director Gunderson presented revised analysis regarding rescue billing. Alderman D’Acquisto noted that he would be abstaining from any discussion or vote on this issue. The Finance Director briefly explained the information presented which supported a rate for nonresidents of $328 and a rate for residents of $228.50 for rescue service. She noted that an analysis will have to be conducted every year to establish the fees. Alderman Sanders moved to recommend the nonresident and resident fees for rescue service for 1998 as presented by the Finance Director. Alderman Salentine seconded. Motion carried 2 in favor and Alderman D’Acquisto abstaining. 2. Creation of Parks Supervisor Position Alderman D’Acquisto moved to recommend the creation of the Parks Supervisor position with the following 1998 biweekly salary: Start $1,310.42; Six Months $1,362.84; and Eighteen Months $1,417.35. Alderman Salentine seconded. Motion carried unanimously. Voucher Approval Alderman D’Acquisto moved for approval of General Fund vouchers in the amount of $344,586.49, Tax Checks in the amount of $2,378,758.77 and Utility Vouchers in the amount of $54,163.36. Alderman Salentine seconded. The vouchers were reviewed. Alderman Patterson arrived at 7:17 p.m. Alderman D’Acquisto called for the question. Motion to approve vouchers carried unanimously. Finance Committee Minutes Page 2 February 10, 1998 Release of Funds Lakewood Meadows Addition #1 Alderman Salentine moved to approve release of $14,000 for Lakewood Meadows Addition #1 pursuant to memo from Director of Planning Matt Sadowski. Alderman Sanders seconded. Motion carried unanimously. Lakewood Meadows Addition #2 Alderman D’Acquisto stated he was reluctant to approve any release of money because a plan for the intersection of Steeplechase and Gold has not been submitted. Until the City sees a plan, the cost or worst case estimate is unknown. Alderman D’Acquisto moved to defer the request and send it to the Public Works Committee for further review. Alderman Salentine seconded. Motion carried unanimously. Adjournment Alderman D’Acquisto moved to adjourn at 7:25 p.m. Seconded by Alderman Salentine, motion carried.
