FCM19961008FINANCE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD OCTOBER 8, 1996
The meeting was called to order at 7:03 P.M. by Chairman De
Angelis. Also present were Committee Members D'Acquisto,
Sanders and Suhr, as well as Aldermen Patterson, Pionek,
Rasmussen, Salentine, and Deputy Clerk Blenski.
The Deputy Clerk noted the meeting was noticed in .accordance with the Open Meetings Law on Friday, October 4.
Under Review of Minutes of Previous Meeting, the Mayor referred the Committee to the October 2 minutes and the item regarding
Jeanette Heckert. Ms. Heckert has contacted Mayor De Angelis
and requested that the Committee reconsider its decision to reissue the check for the auto body repair in Spring. MS.
Heckert intends to have the car repaired in the Spring but is
requesting that the check be issued to her now. She is willing
to sign a release. Alderman Sanders disapproves. He stated if
she wants the check issued now then the repairs should be done
now. Alderman Suhr stated that the estimate from the auto body
repair shop includes items over and above the cost of the actual
repair. If the City gives Ms. Heckert a check for the amount of
the estimate and she does not have the car fixed, she may be
getting more than she should. Ald. D'Acquisto stated he
understands the principle that Ald. Sanders is talking about but
practicality warrants a settlement. Ald. Sanders stated that
the City went out of its way to give her the money in the first place.
Alderman Suhr requested correction be made to the first paragraph of Page 2 of the October 2 minutes. It should indicate the vote was "3-O" instead of "2-O."
Under New Business, Alderman Sanders moved to authorize the
Mayor to execute the WEPCO Easement for Installation of Box
Culvert at the EPI Landfill. Alderman Suhr seconded, carried.
Voucher Approval
Ald. D'Acquisto moved for approval of General Vouchers in the amount of $497,940.08 and Utility Vouchers in the amount of
$332,462.83. He requested that the voucher in the amount of
$27,740 payable to Mainline Sewer be released subject to the
satisfactory completion of the restoration which has not been
verified. Mayor De Angelis will approve the release of the
check. Ald. Suhr seconded, carried.
Ald. Sanders moved to adjourn at 7:20 P.M. Ald. D'Acquisto seconded, motion carried.
Respectfully submitted,
