MINUTES OF MEETING HELD TUESDAY, JULY 9, 1996
The meeting was called to order at 7:05 P.M. by Chairman De
Angelis. Also present were committee members D'Acquisto, Sanders and Suhr, Aldermen Pionek, Salentine, Patterson and
Rasmussen (arr. 7:lti P.M.) and Clerk-Treas. Marenda.
The Mayor noted the meeting was noticed in accordance with the Open Meeting Law.
The Mayor asked if an Operator renewing a license has an
unfavorable police report for activity since originally issuing the license, and the committee has already called him in
regarding the violation, does the committee wish to interview
him again prior to renewing the license? The committee determined if there were no other violations other than the one
already discussed with the applicant, another interview would
not be required.
The committee reviewed recruitment for the Finance Director.
Research showed the costs to advertise in the Chicago Tribune,
Minneapolis Star Tribune, Wall Street Journal and GFOA as
authorized by the committee would be $7,489.00. A revised
proposal from David M. Griffith & Associates to recruit
candidates was submitted for not to exceed $8,000.00. Mayor noted that there is currently another candidate who may be
interviewed by the committee. Ald. D'Acquisto moved to approve
proceeding with David M. Griffith & Associates proposal for
recruitment at a cost not to exceed $E,OOO.OO, after first
giving consideration to the additional candidate; and,
authorizing the Mayor to execute the Agreement with DMG upon approval of the City Attorney; and, to authorize the transfer
of funds from the Finance Director's salary account to
100.100.2400, Mayor's Contracted Services account, if the contract is executed. Seconded by Ald. Sanders, motion carried
3-o.
Ald. D'Acquisto moved for approval of payment of General Vouchers in amount of $376,695.02, Tax Checks in amount of
$348.30 and Utility Vouchers in amount of $194,767.58. Ald.
Suhr seconded, motion carried 3-O.
Ald. Suhr moved to adjourn at I:22 P.M. Ald. D'Acquisto
seconded, motion carried.
