MINUTES OF MEETING HELD WEDNESDAY, JUNE 2, 1993
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Chairman De
Angelis. Also present were Committee Members Patterson, Dumke
and Sanders, Ald. Patterson and Ald. Woodard.

extension to allow Mr. Hansen to secure another tenant to apply
for the license. Seconded by Ald. Sanders, motion carried.

The Committee continued review of the 1993-94 Liquor License applications and recommended approval per the attached list.
Ald. Patterson deferred application for a Class B Fermented Malt Beverage and Intoxicating Liquor License for Tom Albrecht,
the new agent for Gene's Club Durham until the June 16, 1993 meeting. Seconded by Ald. Sanders, motion carried.
The Committee reviewed memorandum from City Clerk Jean Marenda regarding renewal of operator's licenses. The past practice
has been to have the applicant complete an application, pay the fee and be issued the license. No police checks are done at the time of renewals as authorized by the Finance Committee
previously. The applicant certifies on the application that
he/she has no convictions of a felony or violations of the
provisions of any license law or ordinance regulating the sale
of alcohol beverages. If the applicant states that there has been a conviction, the applicant would be sent to the Finance
Committee for an interview. The City Clerk is requesting clarification as to whether or not she should continue with the
present practice. Ald. Patterson moved to direct the City Attorney to draft an ordinance that would require police checks for all renewal Operator's License applications. Seconded by Ald. Sanders, motion carried.

residents of Bridgeport Way in Lake Point Estates West
Subdivision stating, "We, the undersigned, agree to amend the
subdividers agreement of our subdivision to eliminate the
requirement to install a bike path along the north side of Bridgeport Way in Lake Point Estates West". A memorandum from
Chief Johnson, dated June 1, 1993, was read which listed
several concerns affecting the safety of the proposed bicycle
path, along with recommendations that in lieu of the separate
path along Bridgeport Way, the City pass an ordinance
authorized by State Statute 346.802(b) allowing two way bicycle
traffic on one side of Bridgeport Way; using the money in
escrow for the path to pay for required signage indicating a
bicycle path with two-way traffic onthe roadway; restricting parking of vehicles on the side of the street dedicated to the
bicycle path. This could be seasonal from May through October; and mark the street with painted hash marks alerting the
motorists to the path. The Committee moved to recommend that
Section F. be deleted and new language be inserted that states
that at some future date a bike path may be installed at the
discretion of the City at no cost to the Developer. The
Committee referred the issue to the Parks & Recreation Board
for further discussion.
The meeting adjourned at 8:45 P.M.
Respectfully submitted,
