FCM19930309FINANCE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD TUESDAY, MARCH 9, 1993 The meeting was called to order at 7:OO P.M. by Chairman Salentine. Also present were Committee Members Dumke and Sanders, Aid. Schneider, Ald. Simmons, Ald. Misko, City Clerk Marenda and Parks Director Theis. Ald. Sanders moved to clarify the Finance Committee minutes of March 3, 1993, to indicate that the release of funds in the amount of $451.00 for Lakeview Highlands should be released to the new owners and not Dale Dawson as previously indicated. The Committee discussed creation of Library Clerical position which was deferred at the March 3, 1993 meeting. Ald. Sanders moved to recommend approval as the Committee felt that more money would be spent on negotiating attorney fees than we would save on reclassified position and hope that the message has been sent to all Department Heads to have employees perform only work that is within their classification. Seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion carried. The Committee deferred action on proposed contract with the City Engineers pending the special meeting that has been scheduled for March 22, 1993, in order to review full scope of engineering services provided. The request for authorization to solicit bids for the Parks Garage headquarters was deferred to allow presentation by Parks Director Theis at Council immediately following this Finance Committee meeting. The Committee reviewed the following proposed amendments to the Deposit and Forfeiture Schedule to address the recent amendments to Chapter 12 - Adult Establishments and Chapter 32 - Fire Prevent Code Violations: $50.00 Chapter 12, Section 12.20 Adult Establishments $60.00 Chapter 32 Fire Prevention Code Violations Ald. Sanders moved to recommend approval of the above amendments to the Deposit and Forfeiture Schedule. Seconded by Dumke, motion carried. The Committee reviewed revised agreement with Midwest Engineering for soil boring tests for Little Muskego Lake properties. Ald. Dumke moved to recommend Council approval subject to the project not exceeding $9,500.00 and the following amendments: The paragraph as to Fee delete the last sentence and that the following language be added to Items l Finance Committee - Page 2 March 9, 1993 8 and 9 at Line 22 after the word, "which"..... MES will be doing work, will be named as additional insureds on said insurance policies, and shall be named as additional..... Seconded by Ald. Sanders, motion carried. Ald. Dumke moved to approve the following Release of Funds for engineering services: Foxboro $2,179.10 Meadow Green West Addn.#3 $678.49 Settler's Creek $761.30 Seconded by Ald. Sanders, motion carried. Ald. Sanders moved to recommend approval of General Vouchers in the amount of $283,949.52 and Utilities in the amount of $20,972.63. Seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion carried.
