FCM19890405l FINANCE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD APRIL 5, 1989 The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Chairman Salentine. Also present were Committee Members Hilt and Dumke, Chief Johnson and County Supervisor George Guhr. The following persons appeared for an Operator's License: Robert Bertram Kristin Johnson Clifford Sayer David Preiss Ald. Dumke moved to recommend approval of the above applicants subject to receipt of favorable police reports. Seconded by Aid. Hilt, motion carried. The Committee noted that Mr. James Michalak has withdrawn his request for a Class B - Beer Only License. Supervisor George Guhr appeared before the Committee as a representative of the Waukesha County Visitors Bureau recommending that the City of Muskego become a member. He stated that the mission of the Waukesha County Visitors Bureau is to help promote our community and Waukesha County as a whole, as a friendly place for tourists and visitors to come for business and recreation. The cost of membership is $150.00 a year. The Committee will send to Common Council without recommendation. The Committee discussed request for air conditioning repair with Chief Johnson. The main air conditioner unit for the Police Department has a leak in the compressor. The leak cannot be repaired and the compressor needs to be replaced. Two quotes have been received to replace entire unit; $3,000 from Total Comfort and $4,277 from Hales Corners Heating and Air Conditioning. It was noted that a quote to replace compressor only was higher than purchase of new one because of amount of labor. Ald. Hilt moved to approve purchase of new air conditioning unit in the amount of $3,000 with the funds to be transferred from the Contingency Account to the Account #lOO- 2000-5200 (Maintenance of Buildings & Grounds). Seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion carried. The purchase will be eligible for a $200 rebate from the Electric Company. The Committee reviewed Rules, Laws & Ordinance Committee recommendation to establish forfeiture schedule for the addition to Chapter 9 involving cigarettes products as follows: 9-48.983 $25.00 e 9-134.66 $50.00 Ald. Dumke moved to recommend Council approval. Seconded by Ald. Hilt, motion carried. Finance Committee - Page 2 April 5, 1989 Ald. Dumke moved to approve attorney bill for Emerald Park Negotiating Committee in the amount of $2,701.93. Seconded by Ald. Hilt, motion carried. The Committee reviewed request for Release of Funds for Bay Breeze Development. release of $3,385. On February 28, 1989, the Committee approved It has been determined that payment for road construction inspection in the amount of $181.50 should not have been billed to this development. Ald. Hilt moved to amend previous release to reflect a reduction of $181.50 for a total release of $3,203.50 which will leave the balance of the account at $13,109.49. Seconded by Aid. Dumke, motion carried. Ald. Dumke moved to approve maintenance agreement with Lanier Company in the amount of $62.00 for the tape machine used for Municipal Court. Seconded by Ald.
