FCM19850717a FINANCE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEG0 MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JULY 17, 1985 The meeting was called to order by Chairman Salentine at 7:34 P.M. Also present were Committee Members Tomczyk, Dumke, and Penovich, Chief Johnson, Art Josetti, Ald. DeAngelis, City Clerk Stewart, Building Inspector Lee and Assessor Paul DeAngelis. Dumke moved to recommend Council approval of the above persons subject to receipt of favorable police reports. Seconded by Ald. Tomczyk, motion carried. Ald. Dumke moved to recommend approval of a Class B Tavern License for Parkmaster Attractions, Inc., S76 W17998 Janesville Road, Muskego, WI. Seconded by Ald. Tomczyk, motion carried. Ald. Tomczyk moved to recommend approval of a Class A Grocery license for Harold Ahles, W125 S9853 North Cape Road. Seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion carried. Ald. Dumke moved to recommend approval of two special Dance Hall Licenses for Schaumberg's Suburban House to be held on August 28 (rain date Sept. 4) and Sept. 18 (rain date Sept. 25) with a 10:30 P.M. time restriction. Seconded by Ald. Tomczyk, motion carried. Mr. Art Josetti appeared before the Committee to report on current climate in insurance market. Mr. Josetti stated that the property & casualty insurance industry is in a state of chaos and that the City can expect sizeable increases at renewal time. The Committee reviewed request for $1200.00 for the VFW Country Fair Parade. Ald. Tomczyk moved to recommend approval. Seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion carried. The Committee reviewed request for Study of Building Inspection Department with Building Inspector Lee. They reviewed the Wisconsin-Extension and Mr. Mik Lorand, a private consultant. proposals received from Conley, McDonald & Sprague, University of The Mayor and Clerk will obtain more information and report to Finance Committee on Tuesday, July 23, 1985. 0 0 Finance Committee - Page 2 July 17, 1985 The Committee discussed request for funds for evaluation of existing computer systems with Clerk Charlotte Stewart. She is requesting $500-$600 to have University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee do an evaluation of our existing system. This expenditure will be charged to Account 158400-3212, Miscellaneous Supplies & Expenses, with a later transfer from the Contingency Account, if necessary. Ald. Tomczyk moved to recommend approval. Seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion carried. The Committee reviewed quotes for Cleaning Service. The Mayor, Clerk and Police Chief will obtain more information as to specifications and discuss at the August 7 meeting. The Committee discussed resale of Industrial Park Parcel. Mr. Campbell has notified us that he is selling his parcel of land in the Industrial Park and according to the Purchase Agreement, he is offering the City first option to repurchase. Ald. Tomczyk moved to recommend rejection of offer to repurchase land. Seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion carried. The Committee reviewed City Hall carpeting bid for $1,099 to recarpet worn out areas in the existing complex. Ald. Dumke moved to recommend approval. Seconded by Ald. Penovich, motion carried. The Committee reviewed request for use of Council Chambers for Senior I.D. day on October 9, 1985 from 8:30 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Ald. Tomczyk moved for approval. Seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion carried.
