MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JANUARY 19, 1983

The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Chairman Salentine.
~160 present were Committee Members Klenz, Duke and Penovich and
those pereons 98 per the attached list.
The committee discussed upgrading the telephone system at the Police Departmeat with Chief Scholz. Chief Scholz advised the committee Lhat
matter rill be discussed at a future meeting.

Ald. ltlenz moved to recommend approval of a "Gathering" Permit for
the Icetronauts Snowmobile Club at the Club grounds on Woods Road for
February 13, 1983. Seconded by Ald. Dumke. Motion carried.
Ald. Due moved to recommend approval of Dump Refuse Hauling Permits for the following:
J. P. Funk Trucking Co. - Two trucks
City of Waukesha - Three trucks
Seconded by Ald. Klenz. Motion carried.
The committee reviewed layoff policies regarding unemployment compen-
Bation and status of pension plan. The committee decided that the
question of unemployment compensation will be handled by the State. Action was deferred on this matter until further informution is
received from Mr. Shackleton.
The committee discussed 1983 salaries for non-represented employees.
It was the decision of the committee to leave the municipal justice's
ealary 98 is.
Ald. Klenz moved to give a five percent (5%) increase to all non-
represented employees. Seconded by Ald. Dumke. Motion carried.
Ald. Penovich moved to exclude the Election Clerks and Election
Chairman from the 5 percent increase. Sucondttd by Ald. Klonz. Molion
carried.
Ald. Klenz moved to exclude the City Attorney from the 5 percent increase. Seconded by Ald. Dumke. Motion carried.
Ald. Klenz moved to exclude the Water Patrollnen from the 5 pcrccn~ increase. Seconded by Ald. Penovich. Motion carried.
The following person appeared to apply for an Operator's License:
Todd Stoiber
Ald. Penovich moved to recommend approval of an Operator's License €or
Todd Stoiber, subjectl to receipt of favorable police report. Seconded
by Ald. Dumke. Motion carried.
The cornittee discussed the purchase of a new pump for the sewer
utility at a cost not to exceed$l2,500.00. Ald. Klenz requested that
quotes for a pump be sought and the matter be discussed at the next
meeting.
The committee discussed the resolving of the 20 percont (20%) wecd
cutting charge to the City of Muskego by the Little Muskcyo Lake
Protection and Rehabilitation District. Altl. Klenz moved to recommend
Council .acceptance.of a 15 percent (15%) charge subject to the Lake District Commissioners agreeing to the compromise. Seconded by Ald. Dumke. Motion carried.
The committee reviewed the following bids ror four new 1983 model
squad oars:

Ald. Klenz moved to recommend acceptance of bid from Russ Darrow Chrysler-Plymouth for four 1983 model squad cars for a net Cost
of $28,243.76. Seconded by Ald. Klenz. Motion carried.
The aomittee discussed the request from Police ChicY Scholz to rill
the vacant positions of sergeant and patrolmun. hld. Klenz moved to recommend replacing the sergeant's position from within ranks
and to hire a patrolman to fill the vacant position. Upon roll call Aldermen Klenz and Dumke voted "aye". Ald. Penovich voted "no".
The motion carried.
Ald. Klenz moved to approve payment of generul vouchers in the amount of $195,406.38. Seconded by Ald. Dumke. Motion carried.
Ald. Klenz moved to recommend approval of payment of sewer utility
Motion carried.
vouchers in the amount of $19,390.71. Seconded by Ald. Penovich.
The minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and placed on file.
Ald; Klenz moved to adjourn. Seconded by'AldTPenov-ich. Moiion- carried. The meeting adjourned at 9:45 P.M.
