FCM198011190 FINANCE COPPIITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD NOVEMBER 19., 1980 The meeting was called to order at 8:08 P.M. by Chairman Gottfried. Also present were Committee Members Weed, Dumke and Radtke, Ald. Salentine, Supt. Bertram and Building Inspector Lee. The following persons appeared to apply of Operator's Licerses: John Walkowski Virginia McCullough Delbert Hantula Karen Marcheshi Karen Castronova Mark Skowronski Harry McCullough Patsey Hantula Carol Duane Ald. Radtke moved to recommend Council approval of the above listed persons. Seconded by Ald. Dumke. Motion carried. Mrs. Patsey Hantula also appeared to apply for a Class "B" Femented- Malt Beverage and Intoxicating Liquor License for W180 57808 Pioneer Drive (Pioneer Inn) in Muskego. Ald. Radtke moved to recommend Council approval of same subject to the expiration of the 15-day waiting period following publication. Seconded by Ald. Dumke. Yotion carried. Ald. .Dumke moved to recommend Council approval of vouchers in the amount of $34,988.19. Seconded by Ald. LJeed. Motion carried. Police Chief Scholz appeared at the meeting to request.payment in the am'ount of $18.43 for damages to Officer Markley's gun. Ald. Dumke moved to grant the request. Seconded by Ald. Radtke. Motion carried. Chief Scholz requested permission to have'lt. Dzibinski attend uw" Milwaukee on Friday of each week from 9:OO A.M. to Noon from 1/9/81 through 5/1/81. Ald. Radtke moved to grant the request. Seconded by Ald. Dumke. Motion carried. The committee reviewed the following payment requests for work completed on the Bluhm Park Project: Jerry Kasian Landscaping $26,421.48 Wolf Construction Company Wolf Zwing C~rnpa~p 19,354.50 17,971.90 Ald. Dumke moved to approve the above listed payment requests. Seconded ! by Ald. Weed. Motion carried. ! Gerald Lee appeared before the committee to discuss inspection charges to the Village of Big Bend. He recommended a fee of $15.00 per hour be charged to Big Bend. Ald. Dumke moved to recommend to the Comon Council that a fee of $20.00 per hour be charged to the Bullding and Zoning Department. Seconded by Aid. Radtke. Motion carried. Suildiny, Inspector Lee -discussed with the 'Committee the nature o.? the services and work provided by his office to the citizens of the copmunity. He indicated his office handled matters in the 'ielc! of inspections, zonings, health, sewers, engineering, etc. In answer to a question from Ald. Salentine, Building Inspector Lee indicated new construction. that approximattely 10% of his staff's work involved inspections on The committee discussed with Building Inspector Lee the justification for $2,000.00 per year automobile allowance. Village of Big Bend for services provided by the City of Muskego \ Finance Committee November 19, 1980 Page 2 ., The Committee discussed the possibility of selling a city-owned lot in Krogman's Subdivision. Mayor Gottfried advised the committee that the lot is sub-standard and that the property owners on each side have indicated an interest in purchasing all or part of it, Ald. Dumke moved to recommend to the Common Council that Mayor Gottfried be authorized to negotiate for the sale of the city-owned~ lot in Krogman Subdivision. Seconded by Ald. Radtke. Motion carried. The committee acknowledged receipt of a comunication from the State Department of Revenue indicating the city's shared taxes are $82,317.00 and $560,861.03 for payment of per capita taxes and per cent of aidable revenues. The minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and placed on file. The committee reviewed the librarian's request for continuation of a CO-OP student secretary. The matter was deferred until the next meeting when,Grant Frederickson would appear. The committee reviewed a communication from Jean Marenda and Charlotte Stewart in which they presented their recommendations for a copy machine in city hall. After reviewing the comparisons and costs. Ald. Radtke moved to recommend to the Common Council that the cityetc. enter into a lease agreement for a KIP copy machine with ABC Office Equipment Co. of Milwaukee for a three year period. Seconded by Ald. Dumke. Motion carried. Ald. Dumke moved to adjourn. Seconded by Ald. Radtke. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned.
