MINUTES OF NXETING HELD OCTOBER 8, 1980
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Gottfried at 7:15 P.M. Also
present were Committee Members Weed, Dumke and Radtke, Ald. Steinberg,
Ald. Salentine and Sun Reporter Pat Dallman.
The following persons appeared at the meeting to apply for Operator's
Licenses :

Ald. Dumke moved to recommend approval of Operator's Licenses for the
above listed persons. Seconded.by Ald. Radtke. Motion carried.
Miss Heidi Herzberg appeared at the meeting to apply for a Class "B"
Fermented Malt Beverage License for the CaEe Europa and Mrs. Helen Just
and Patricia Serkowski appeared to apply for a Class "B" Fermented Malt Beverage and Intoxicating Liquor License. Ald Dumke moved to recommend
Common Council approval of the above listed applicants. Seconded by
Ald. Radtke. Motion carried.
The 1981 proposed Library Budget was presented to the Finance Committee
by Librarian Grant Fredrickson. The Muskego Volunteer Fire Company
proposed budget was presented by President Carl Mack and the Tess Corners
Fire Department and Rescue budget was presented by Steve Busalacchi.
The committee discussed with members of the Tess Corners Fire Department
the service contracts which expire in February of each year and agreed
to change that to cover a period from January 1st to December 31st, 1981.
The committee members agreed to present to the Council a proposal to
raise the rescue fee from $75.00 to $85.00.
Chief Scholz discussed with the committee his request to fill a vacant
position of police officer. Ald. Dumke moved to grant the request.
Seconded by Ald. Weed. Motion carried.
The committee reviewed requests from Chief Scholz to cover the cost
incurred to repair a watch owned by Paul Geiszler damaged while on duty
in the amount-of $27.47 and for reimbursement in the amount^ of $18.02
for damages to the service revolver of Officer Paul Manske. Ald. Dumke
moved to approve the requests for payment.. Seconded by Ald. Radtke,
motion carried.
The committee discussed with Chief Scholz several quotes he received
to landscape the area around the police building. Chief Scholz indicated I
thtbecause of the $5,000.00 limit imposed by the Council only re- I
grading and seeding could be accomplished at this time, He indicated
that from the several quotes he receivedthat General Landscaping (John
Hein) had the low quote in the amount of $4,840.00. Ald. Dumke moved I
to recommend Council approval of a resolution acceptin the low quote
from General Landscaping (John Hein) in the amount of ! 4,840.00. Seconded !
by Ald. Radtke. Motion carried.
Ald. Weed moved to approve the request of Chief Scholz to send Officer
Mack to a drug investigation school in Milwaukee from November 10th to
November 21st, 1980. Seconded by Ald. Radtke. Motion carried.
Mayor Gottfried discussed with the committee the plans which are being
developed for inner-city transportation for senior citizens. Ald.
Dumke moved to recommend to the Common Council approval of an agreement
between the Waukesha County~Department-of Aging andlhe city whereby a
program of transportation for senior citizens within the city would
proceed until December 31, 1980, at which time it would be evaluated.

Ald Radtke moved to transfer $5,000.00 from Account #OO-55200-3411,
Oils & Asphalt to Account #OO-55200-3412, Sand and Gravel. Seconded
by Ald. Dumke. Motion carried,
The committee discussed the possibility of dividing lands owned by
the city in the area of Fairfield Dr. and McShane Dr. and selling
the three lots. Ald. Weed moved to. recommend to the Common Council
that the necessary action be taken in order that the division can
be made. Seconded by Ald.0- Motion carried.
After reviewing the present fee for an Operator's License, Ald. Weed
moved to recommend to the Common Council that Section 12.01 of the
License be increased from $5.00 to $10.00. Seconded by Ald. Radtke
Motion carried.Following discussion regarding the present permit
fees for Extractive and Asphalt fees, Ald. Dumke moved to reconmend
to the Common Council to amend Section 6.07 of the Zoning Ordinance
to provide that Extractive fees shall be $190.00 peryear and
Asphalt fees shall be $lOO..OO per year. Seconded by Ald. Weed.
Motion carried.
