FCM198006040 e FINANCE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JUNE 4, 1980 The meeting was called to order by Acting Chairman D&e at 7:34 P.M. Also present were Corrunittee Members Weed and Radtke and Ald. Knudsen. The following persons appear to apply for Operators Licenses: Colbert Mitchell John Opelt Sharon Hartkopf Ald Dumke moved to recommend Council approval of the above listed persons to have Operators Licenses. Seconded by Ald. Weed. Motion carried Mr Herb Trapp, Big Bend Village Trustee, appeared at the meeting Muskego's Inspection Department. The committee indicated to Mr. Trapp to discuss with the committee the possibility of using the City of they would be willing to consider the matter, however, a clarification of the work which would be done by the Building Inspection Department was necessary. Mr. Trapp was also directed to advise the Committee whether or not the city would be involved in matters relating to zoning, Board of Appeals, etc. of the city regarding retirement programs. He indicated that under our Building Inspector Lee discussed with the committee the present policy present program employees who are hired by the city after age 55 matter with Mr. Shackleton receive no retirement benefits The cormnittee agreed to review the Recreation Supervisor, Jackie St. Mary, appeared at the meeting to handling the Nutrition Program. She indicated that they are discuss the possibility of leasing Denoon School for the purpose of presently using Jensen Center whi& creates problems during the summer. Miss St Mary also indicated she would like to discuss with the Parks and Recreation Board the possibility of developing the Denoon School into a senior citizen center. The committee notes the building could be used for the Nutrition Program withoutpdnga great deal of money and tha't State'matching funds are avairable;' They also noted that the estimated cost of operating the center for 1980 was $2,365 12 excluding cost of repairs and that if it were to be used as a senior citizen center the cost for 1980 would be approximately $4,870 12 Common Council that a lease between the city and the School District including cost of repairs Ald Dumke moved to recommend to the be executed Seconded by Ald Weed. Motion carried Ald Weed moved to recommend to the Common Council that the city up to federal standards. Seconded by Ald. Radtke. Motion carried apply for a grant to aid in the cost of bringing the Denoon School Ald. Weed moved to recommend to the Common Council to transfer $5,000.00 from Unappropriated Surplus to Account 957200-7500, Parks and Recreation Senior Citizens. Seconded by Ald. Dumke Motion carried. The minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and placed on file Ald Knudsen appeared at the meeting with literature regarding the use of tape recorders at committee meetings. The committee requested the City Clerk to contact other companies as to what is available on dictating and taping equipment. The committee discussed the possibility of taking an inventory of all real property owned by the city and labeling them for identification purposes. Ald. Radtke moved to adjourn. Seconded by Ald.
