FCM19800305FINANCE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEG0 MINUTES OF MEETING HELD MARCH 5, 1980 The meeting was called to order at 7 30 P.M. by Chairman Gottfried. Also present were Committee Members Dumke and Tomczyk. Chief Scholz was also present. The following persons appeared to apply for Operator's Licenses: Scott Konczal Adrian Gehl Tomothy Gillihan Steve Carroll Ald. Tomczyk moved to recommend approval of the above listed by Ald. Dumke. Motion carried. applicants subject to receipt of favorable police reports. Seconded Agent of Pizza Hut of Suburban Milwaukee, Inc. Seconded by Ald. Ald. Tomczyk moved to recommend Council approval of Mary Hanzel as Dumke. Motion carried. Ald. Tomczyk moved to recommend approval of "Gathering Permit" for Ladies Auxiliary of the Muskego Volunteer Fire Co. for March 22, 1980. Seconded by Ald. Dumke. Motion carried. Chief Scholz appeared at the meeting to discuss the bonding of six civilian employees in his department. Ald. Tomczyk moved to have the six civilian employees at the Police Department bonded. Seconded by Ald. Dumke. Motion carried. Chief Scholz also discussed the necessity to have the Tac Team attend first aid classes at WCTI at a cost of $8.00 per person. The committee agreed to permit the officers involved attend the classes providing time and one-half salary was not involved. Chief Scholz discussed the procedures being used relating to the activities of the Animal Warden. Chief Scholz discussed the purchase of the new walkie talkies for his department. He advised if the purchase were made prior to March 15th from RCA a reduction of 15% could be realized. The committee agreed to review the 1979 capital funds to see if this would be a possibility. Vouchers in the amount of $94,375.42 were reviewed. Ald. Tomczyk moved to recommend Council approval of same. Seconded by Ald. Dumke. Motion carried. The committee discussed the razing of the old police station. Ald. Tomczyk moved to recommend Council acceptance of the quote of Henry Marohl in the amount of $700.00. Seconded by Ald. Dumke. Motion carried. for purchase of a desk and chair in the Treasurer's Office. Monies Ald. Dumke moved for the approval of payment in the amount of $458.99 for same to come from capital funds surplus and to be returned when borrowing for the 1980 program takes place. The committee reviewed minutes of the Sewer Committee meeting held February 11, 1980 when they approved payment of $6,500.00 to Super Excavators for work on the Lake Denoon Sewer Project. Ald. Tomczyk moved to amend the amount of the voucher list by adding $6,500.00 as payment to Super Excavators. Seconded by Ald. Dumke. Motion carried. The committee reviewed contracts for J & J Cleaning Service. Ald. Tomczyk moved to recommend Council approval of contracts with J & J Cleaning Service in the amount of $500.00 per month for the cleaning of the police building for a six-month period. Seconded by Ald. Dumke. the City Hall-Library Complex and $500.00 per month for the cleaning Motion carried. Finance Committee 3/6/80 Page 2. Ald. Duke moved to authorize J & J Cleaning Service to clean the carpeting in the city hall (upstairs and downstairs) at a cost of $635.00. Seconded by Ald. Tomczyk. Motion carried. The committee noted monies had been budgeted for this purpose. The committee acknowledge receipt of a claim for Mrs. Edward Dah1 of the Lake Denoon sewer construction project. Same forwarded to the for damages to her car in the amount of $197.96 sustained in the area city's insurance carrier. Ald. Tomczyk moved to authorize transfer of $4,000.00 from Parks and #57200-6100, Utilities, to cover additional costs for operating the Recreation Account #57200-3212, Operating Expense, to Account pool. Seconded by Ald. Dumke. Motion carried. Ald. Tomczyk moved to recommend to the Common Council that $1,240.00 of uncollectible fees for rescue service and snow plowing dating back to 1974 be written off. Seconded by Ald. Dumke.
