FCM19790808FINANCE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEG0 MINUTES OF MEETING HELD AUGUST 8, 1979 The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Chairman Gottfried. Also present were Aldermen' Ford, Dumke and Tomczyk, Chief Scholz, Lt. Zabel and Ald. Weed. fie following persons appeared to apply for Operator's Licenses: Shelley Spangler Christine Kupfer Adrienne .Hansen . David Salla . Ald. Ford moved to recomend Council approval of the above listed persons. Seconded by Ald. Tomczyk. Motion carried. Aid. Ford moved to recomend approval of a Gathering .Permit for VFW Post #8171 for August 24, 25 and 26, 1979. Seconded by AH. Tomczyk. Motion carried. me committee reviewed the general vouchers and Ald. Ford moved to recommend Council approval of payment of vouchers in the amount of $214,861.36. Seconded by Ald. Tomczyk. Motion carried. The committee acknowledged receipt of check in the amount of $12,791.96 from the Office of the Comissioner of Insurance for fire department distribution. The committee acknowledged a claim in the amount of $91.31 for damages to auto due to. hitting a protruding manble on Daisy.- Lane. Same referred to city's insurance carrier. " - " ~. . The committee reviewed a comqunication from the WisCOnSin Electric power Company regarding proposed new and revised street lighting on S.T.H. 24 in the Tess Corners aTea. A1.d. Ford moved to recommend Council approval of the installation of 22 - 400 watt lamps and the accessory equipment at a cost of $198.44 per month. Seconded by Aid. Tomczyk. Motion carried. Communication from J & J's Cleaning Service was reviewed. Ald. Dumke moved for Council approval of a contract between the city and J & J's Cleaning Service at a cost of $450.00 per month for the City-Hall and Library and $4.50.00 per month for the Police Station. Seconded by Aid. Ford. Motion carried. Mayor Gottfried advised the committee that the Muskego Fire Department has requested permission to acquire from the old police building the 200 amp. electric service, the shrubbery around the building as well Ald. Tomczyk. Motion carried. as the oil tank. Ald. Dumke moved to grant the request. Seconded by The comnittee acknowledged receipt of a cormnunication from the City Clerk regarding the 1979 salary of the Civil Defense Direc,tor, George Trepanier. Ald. Tomczyk moved to make the necessary adjustment in the amount of $43.20. Seconded by Ald Dumke. Motion carried. The comnittee reviewed a communication from the Clerk's office regarding the policy involving payment of car allowance when absent from work because of illness. The committee noted that a previous Finance Committee had established a policy, however, they felt there was need for updating that policy. Ald. Ford moved that the following policy regarding the receipt of car allowance while absent from work: In by the Common Council upon the adoption of the annual budget shall the event an employee who receives a car allowance established annually receive their car allowance in the event of absence from work due to illness or injury, etc. for a period no greater than 30 days.
