MINUTES OF MEETING HELD NOVEMBER 8, 1978
e- The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Acting Chairman
Schaumberg. Also present were Committee Members Ford and Dumke and
police Chief Scholz.
The minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and placed on file.
Mr. John Thomas and Miss Terri King appeared at the meeting to apply
for an Operator's License. Ald. Ford moved to recommend Council
by Ald. Dumke. Motion carried.
approval of the above applicants to hold Operators Licenses. Seconded
Ald. Ford moved to continue the position of Lieutenant which had been
vacated by former Lt. Scholz, now Chief of Police. Seconded by Ald.
Schaumberg, motion carried.
Ald. Ford moved to continue the position of Sergeant when the vacated
position of Lieutenant is filled. Seconded by Ald. Schaumberg. Motion
carried.
Ald. Schaumberg moved to authorize the installation of a private
Ald. Dumke. Motion carried.
Ald. Dumke moved to accept the proposal of Central Electric Enterprises,
Inc. to install a sign for the new police building in the amount of
$1,812.20. Seconded by Ald. Schaumberg. Motion carried.
Ald. Schaumberg moved to recommend Council approval of the Falaiy
for the position of Court Clerk to be at the second step of the range
filled. Seconded by Ald. Dumke. Motion carried.

between Associated Hospital Services (Blue Cross-Blue Shield) and the

The committee reviewed the recommendation of the negotiating committee
relating to the settlement of the 1978 contract with the Department of
Public Works. The settlement includes a 64% increase in wages, one
payment of hospitalization plan and an additional 10~ per hr. for the
floating holiday, one additional halfday holiday (December 31st), full
mechanic in the garage. The agreement also involves the settlement of
the dispute of the payment of retroactive pay for 1975 in the amount of
it would be in the best interest of all parties involved to settle the
$40.00 per man. It was' the opinion of the negotiating committee that
Council approval of the settlement with the Department of Public Works.

The committee reviewed a comunication from Mayor Gottfried advising the
employees of the Department of Public Works. Ald. Schaumberg moved to d
