MINUTES OF MEETING HELD SEPTEMBER 6, 1978
The meeting was called to order by Ald. Schaumberg at 7:30 P.M.
Also present were- aldermen Ford, Dumke and Tomczyk. Mayor
Gottfried arrived at 8 00 P.M
The following persons applied for bartender licenses; Fred Graves, Jr
Ron Id Bode, Judy Rudolph, Patricia Ann LaRose, Valerie Novak, Cindy
Hi1 3 ebrand, Frederick Fischer, Renee Molkentin, Russell Smith and
Brian Cummines Ald Ford moved to recommend to the Cornon Council

approval of the above requests for bartender licenses. Seconded by

Mr Steve Pischke appeared to request that his department receive

The committee reviewed a communication from Mrs. Patty Rutzen
requesting that she be granted a leave of absence without pay for
October 13, 16, 17 and that she be permitted to take a day's
vacation on October 12th. Mrs. Bowyer appeared before the
committee to discuss the request and advised the committee that
and that she has granted leave of absence without pay for
at the present time there is not sufficient vacation hours left,
October 13 and 16. The comittee advised Mrs Bowyer that since
she is the department head, she should make the decision as to
whether or not the additional days requested should be granted.
A comunication from the Building Inspector requesting the trans-
fer of $75 00 from Account 52500-3212 (Supplies) to 52500-3220
(House Numbers) was reviewed He explained that the additional
money was needed because of two subdivisions required one digit

The comittee reviewed a communication from Lt Scholz requesting

A quotation from Sorenson's Ace Glass Service to install glass
in the City Hall's front door was received The quote indicated
that full replacement would cost $1,000 and that two 20" x 36"
glass inserts would cost $150 00 Ald. Schaumberg moved to
authorize the installation of the two glass inserts Ald. Dwnke
seconded the motion, motion carried
The comittee reviewed a communication from Kathy Horton, Library
Director, requesting that Phyllis Makl, who recently filled a
vacant position of Library Clerk be paid at the second step of
the salary range She indicated that her request was based on
her years of service to the library and her excellent qualifi-
