FCM19780208"" 0 e 0 0 e FINANCE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD FEBRUARY a, 1978 The meeting was-.called to order at 7.45 P.M. by Chairman Gottfried. Also present were Committee Members Dumke and Schaumberg. Several other aldermen and citizens were also in attendance. The following persons appeared to apply for Operators License: Randy Wierzba - Milwaukee Thomas Uecke - Milwaukee Ralph Tomczyk, Jr. - New Berlin Aid. Schawnberg moved to recommend Council approval of the above listed applicants for Operators Licenses. Seconded by Aid. Dumke, motion-.carried:.,;.r' Aid. Seconded %y Ald. Sch-aumberg,. motion carried.; The committee reviewed the proposed lease agreement between the city andWauer Fur Foods, Inc. Ald. Schaumberg moved to recommend to the Common Council approval of the lease for a one-year period at a cost of $50.00 per year. Seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion carried. Seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion carried. Reports from City Attorney Buckley for the months of November, December and January regarding the number of hours in which he was involved in city business was reviewed and placed on file. (I A commnication from Assessor Paul DeAngelis regarding the final assessment of Covenant Living Centers was reviewed and placed on file. It was noted that their real estates for 1977 will will be $18,413.00 A communication from the State of Wisconsin Licensing Department re- garding the guidelines for refusing requests for licenses was reviewed and placed on file. Mr. John Ernst of SEWRPC appeared before :he committee to discuss with them the proposed terminal system computer He advised the committee of the equipment which would be needed indicated that the cost would be $750 00 per month plus computer time. Several alderrnen and citizens in the audicnce asked severel queztion; End expressed their views re- Council that the city enter into an agreement with SEWRPC whereby garding the matter. Ald. Schaumberg moved to recommend to the Common Computer service would be provided by SE\YRPC. Seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion carried. It was noted by the committee that SE\YRpC would have time in early April to begin the necessary work which would take approximately three months and that if a decision could be made relative ly Soon the city would be placed ahead of West Bend. Mr. Charles Damaske appeared.at the meeting to discuss with the corn- \, I mittee the overexpenditure of approximately $4,000.00 incurred during the construction of the pole barn in the Bi-centennial Park. Following a considerable amount of discussion between Mr. Damaske, Mrs. Nolan and Mr. SorensOn, it was the decision of the committee to send the request for additional monies to the Common Council without recommendation. 1 ” ”..\ Finance Committee Page 2. 2/8/78 A communication from Mr. Paul DeAngelis requesting that consideration be given to providing hospitalization insurance for him was reviewed. The matter was deferred until the next meeting. The committee reviewed a report from City Treasurer Jean Sanders regarding current investments and interest rates. Same placed on file. The committee acknowledged receipt of a communication from Mr. Phi-llip Dibb of Dorothy Drive, regarding a charge for:weed cutting.. which herfeels was-not warranted.
